Shadow In The Cloud
Mainly because I'm a BIG fan of Chloe Grace Moretz - more to the point, her lips.
Anyway...
Look this started out alright and then sort of fell into a mishmashed heap. What could have been some kind of scifi/fantasy driven with a linear, but solid plot, became a bit disjointed toward the end.
It was alright, because it was free.

ha ha I agree with the first part, started out ok as you said and if they had thought it through could have made it into a proper scifi/fanatsy thriller but instead should be worthy of a razzie, it was a steaming dumpster pile of turd for me even though I aso didnt pay for it . For me I felt like they should have paid me to watch it.

Like if they'd made the contents of the box somehow directly related to the existence of the gremlin, that would have made more compelling viewing.

100% actually that would have been good. They could have even done the traditonal camera view from the gremlin approaching his/her victim with foreboding music as it attacks would have also added to the suspense..lots of missed opportunities!

@bayimports Ran out of effects budget

I hadn't seen Kickboxer since I was about 12 years old.
In the canon of Van Damme movies - it really does not hold up. Minimal action over 100 minutes. Bloodsport did so much more with a small budget. Hard Target was a world away.
2/5
Garbage that didn't even have fights.

Oh shit, @Kruse this one looks made just for you

Only a Seagal fan would write this shit. Van Damme is the man !!!!! ( especially compared to Seagal )

Obviously adding the word ‘Planet’ stops them getting sued by the guys who made the, you know, DECENT Dune movie….
This looks like utter shit and I see it has an IMDB rating of 1.8 out of 10

Have to agree. I started watching it a few months back out of nostalgia. Didn't get more than ~20mins in.

Sean Young's career has really gone downhill. I am sure there will be suckers that think, well she was in the original Dune so I've gotta see this.
Like me. This looks hilariously awful. Check out the dialogue in the preview.

Army of Thieves
Prequel to Army of the Dead. Actually wifey and I thought it was much better than Army of the Dead, but led nicely into it, even to the point of us doing a doubleheader and watching the orginal again. Zach Synder still has his hands all over this movie, but in my mind much better length and fun to watch. Story focuses on the locksmith and his background which turns out to be a pretty good action/heist movie and how he gets into safe cracking
3.5 unbreakable safes out of 5 hans wagners

Eek, I was actually thinking about watching this as he wasn't directing. Zac Snyder is so weird, every interview I've seen him do, press etc, he's always a really nice guy and really interesting, if he had a podcast I'd subscribe to it, yet I can't stand his movies bar one (300, and I'm too scared to rewatch it again in case I've got a false memory).

put it this way, he wrote it and Deborah Snyder and himself are producers, but is was directed by Matthias Schweighöfer (the lead actor) .. so dont flip out yet

Yeah, I listened to an interview with the director and Zac on the Empire podcast. From the podcast it didn't seem like Zac had his hands all over it. Hmmm.
I'm trying to find something to watch today as Monday is my go to the cinema day, there's nothing I want to see (too many horrors out due to Halloween), and I have a conundrum. I have access to a 4K copy of Dune, but I want to see Dune in the cinema, but there's nothing I really want to watch today and am afraid I'll cave and watch Dune.
