Here's a fun fact: 5 teams won games this week with qbs that are current or former jets. For those keeping score at home that's Broncos (Bridgewater), Seahawks (Geno), Panthers (Darnold), Saints (Siemien) and Jets (White).

Not really anything significant about that other than a rather neat curiousity.

I see that the Cowboys come back to win without Prescott.

    And the Bucs lost.

The Vikings. A franchise that are masters at the close loss.

Really impressive win by the Patriots over the Chargers in LA.

With the extended playoffs now (3 wildcard teams) the playoff race is going to be fun this season. The last wildcard spot in the NFC looks wide open right now whilst all 3 wildcard spots the AFC look open.

I wanted the Cowboys to win after the last Vikings drive was just a bunch of bullshit penalties

Bucs game was fun, if you like rooting fro underdogs. Bucs D gave away so many penalties it wsn't funny, right when the toothless Saints needed them. It was crazy.

Bad injury to Jameis Winston knee, too, wasn't good to see at all.

On another night, Brady wins by 20 ... but that's sport

Winston out for the season, Henry looking likely to be out for the season. Titans season is basically over at this point, Saints will be interesting to watch, Payton reckons they have their QB already but I don't think Hill or Siemien is good enough to lead a serious play off team.

Von Miller traded to the Rams.

    Wow.

Broncos are paying most of the salary but get back a 2nd and a 3rd for a guy in the last year of his deal they weren't going to re-sign anyway.

Rams really targetting the Super Bowl to played in their new stadium.

Can you imagine coming up against him AND Donald. Aaron is just insanely good.

in side notes, JJ Watt out for season; may be a dick, but was amazing for a long time on a shitty Texans team, and I kinda like the guy

This rams team is looking pretty complete right now, doesn't feel like a bad decision for them. Especially since Miller probably signs a decent deal somewhere else next season and they'll get a compensatory pick back.

Rams first pick in the draft will be in the 5th round... If they don't trade that away too.

@nzzp Watt was in the same draft class as Von Miller (2011).

Yeah with Watt out and Kyler Murray starting to get banged up I expect Rams to win the NFC West.

I like it - good to see different models than just 'stockpile picks'. Belichek loved lower round pick, thought that was where the value was. Trading down is a thing that can work -- this is taken to the extreme, going to the free market and picking up people replaced by drafted folk i guess!

    @nzzp

From memory even first round picks have about a 50% bust rate. It's pretty understandable why the rams have gone this route.

The real value of a draft pick is the cost control and the rams have done well to find decent late round picks who can contribute and allow them flexibilty.

fucking devastated Von is gone. I understand it, but i'm devastated

Rams defense is loaded with scary people.

Henry being out fucks the Titans. AP is not going to fill that hole

... and the Titans screwed up Seahawks, Colts, Chiefs and Bills. They don't win those without Henry I reckon.

Fark, what a loss. Loved watching him play. Hopign he comes back strong next year - if it's only a foot, hopefully no lasting effects.

This Henry Ruggs situation is so sad.

    So avoidable.

Innocent young lady loses her life.

Ruggs is almost certainly heading to jail.

If only he had taken an Uber.

    It's fucked. Everything about it.

Can't remember an athlete in his prime throwing his career away in such a reckless, careless way. Aaron Hernandez I suppose.

He should do 10+ years in prison.

@mn5 Hayne was an amazing fall from grace, but it was more of a gradual series of mis-steps (criminal and professional). He didn't go off the rails quite like this.
