What happened to him? Is he in prison or is it still in the courts?
Basically he got taken apart by a mob as it seems Spacey could be a bit of a sleaze bag. Shock & horror. As usual the outrage against this was everywhere when it came out, but as one by one its been dismissed and he hasn't had to face a single charge, that story has never been said. Ultimately, it comes down to the one where apparently at 26 he made a pass at a 14 year old chap. Spacey doesn't deny it, but says he doesn't remember it. As always, the story is completely free of any context and the truth is unknown.
However, Spacey really fucked up at the time as when he apologised he exited the closet. This was largely seen as some sort of attempt to push the accusations in the background. Or, to use being gay as an excuse. Naturally, both have put certain sections of society up in arms.
It may seems like I have sympathy for Spacey, which isn't necessarily true. He made his own mistakes. However, he has completely been screwed over by a system designed to trash people as much as possible and then face zero consequences for this when things change.
If he's cleared of everything, then he should be back on screen. Because he's a brilliant actor. American Beauty is absolutely brilliant and shows him at the top of his game.
