Guptill is now bombing sixes at will...

@majorrage it’s a fine line in this format. You want to keep your good bowlers with 1 or maybe 2 overs up your sleeve.

Sort of. If you are a minnow though and you have one of the bigger teams in a bit of trouble, surely you continue to press. It's unlikely you'll win by trying to keep the score down. Really needed the wickets.

Guptill is completely and utterly fucked but is still hitting 6's!

Doubt he will field at the start of the innings!

I am hoping he doesn't field, even though he is one of our best fielders..he needs to re hydrate and rest

Probably better that Phillips goes. He’s struggled.

Really good bowling at the end by Scotland. 172 total.

Have no idea about Scotland's batting but that's a competitive total for any team in Dubai so far.

Great innings from Guppy, and good to see him get into a bit of form.

We should really have got to 190 with 5 wickets down, but some credit to Scotland, especially that spinner, for some decent bowling.

Had to laugh at the commentators saying Scotland were "well on top" at 52/3. I thought at the time we were on track for 170 odd.

How on earth was Guptill so shattered? He looked out on his feet by the tenth over.

I know it's hot, but they're professional athletes. The bowlers didn't seem to be too perturbed.

                  Edit: great innings obviously

Watt is a class T20 spinner. Very hard to get away.

Scotland making it look really easy out there. Scoring runs at will. Milne goes for 5 4's in a row.

And now Sodhi goes for 6.

                        Really easy for Scotland.

Southee with an excellent outfield catch on the run. Brilliant. We needed that.

Honestly, that wicket aside, we look like the second tier team, Scotland the first.

Scoring singles at will and every single bad ball going to the boundary out of the middle.

Tight finish coming up. After pegging them back a bit, the runs are starting to leak again...

And after going for 9 an over off his first 3, Milne bowls a tight enough final over and we win - phew!

WE are going to lose to Afghanistan if we continue to play the same game.

Same as Pakistan, our timing is just way off. I think we only put away about 10-15% of the bad balls. No problems with single collection, but we aren't cashing in as much as we should.

And then bowling? Yes, we won, but there was pretty much so no urgency. Lots of bad balls to be put away. We won because we managed a run-rate squeeze, that was it.

                                    Shocking stuff.

Did the reverse @booboo. Stayed up and started watching rather than going to bed.

It worked, as when I started watching it looked like the Jocks had a decent run at it, then they didn't as we squeezed them, then it didn't work quite so well as they got closer than we should have let them.

                                      Take the Dub.

Also (dunno if mentioned as not followed this thread), but what's with Boult's action?

After a maiden in his first over against the same batsmen. 🙂

Milne needs to bowl fuller with his pace.

NZ made that much harder than it should have been.
