East Coast win again in the local derby.

          Thames Valley 50 - King Country 15
          Buller 14 - West Coast 22
          Poverty Bay 28 - East Coast 31
          Horowhenua Kapiti 37 - Wairarapa Bush 14
          South Canterbury 43 - Mid Canterbury 22
          Whanganui 45 - North Otago 12

South Canterbury and Thames Valley will contest the final of the Bunnings Heartland Meads Cup in a fortnight after their bonus point wins in week seven of the competition.
South Canterbury romped to a 43-22 win over Mid Canterbury to rock their chances of contesting the Lochore Cup final as they slipped to a share of fifth place on 20 points with North Otago, who suffered a 12-45 loss to Whanganui.

Whanganui sit in third place two points ahead of Horowhenua Kapiti who leap-frogged North Otago and Mid Canterbury to sit fourth on 23 points.

To confirm their places in the Lochore Cup final, being contested by the third and fourth-placed teams this year, Whanganui will need at least one point from their away game with Thames Valley in Te Aroha while Horowhenua Kapiti is away to Poverty Bay, who went down to neighbouring East Coast 28-31 on Saturday.

Home advantage for the Lochore Cup final will be the incentive for Whanganui to go for a win.

East Coast still the most interesting line-up of the comp. If your player/coach (Hosea Gear) goes back home to Oz, you just ask his brother to come out of retirement! :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I am going to keep playing presidents until my son can run along side me. At 13 he is the same height as me so he will be big enough in a two or three years.

Having a look at the East Coast squad I see that Josh Coffin is a loan player. He's previously played for King Country. Also Joe Royal is another loan player.

@Bovidae Renata Roberts-Te Nana is in thier squad too, played for us at the back end of last season after returning from MLR, unsure if this is as a loan player, probably not.

                                        Reckon he will score plenty!

@taniwharugby I didn't list him as that had already been mentioned. He is listed as a Ruatoria City player. They have 4 loan players in their squad.
