ha yeah...for a show that is fantastical and you switch off a lot of thinking, at times it seems they have tried to engage a bit of thought but chosen to not go that way for some reason or another.

I read an article awhile ago on shows/movies doing better when they are "realistic within their imaginary worlds" or some such shit. So in Star Wars we readily accept Jedi with powers, lightabres, blasters, travelling at light speed, Death Stars etc because in that world that makes sense. I think cos Banshee isn't a piss take it can be a bit hard to justify every single person fighting as well as they can ( not to mention never finding out Hoods identity, Proctor continually getting away with dodgy shit, Carrie NEVER getting caught or even hurt during her vigilante missions etc ), the bullshit needle got pushed to critical early on when Hood beat a much bigger, faster guy who happened to also be a UFC champion. As we all know in some episodes multiple people die and are never mentioned again yet as I said earlier the town freaks out at three chicks dying over a year. It's kinda losing it's own identity and it's confused as to what sort of show it's trying to be. If the government wanted to it could have easily sent Hood, Job and Carrie into the middle east with Sugar co-ordinating ( cos as an ex boxer bar owner he is just so qualified to do so ) and the threat of ISIS would be completely wiped out and they'd all have a congratulatory bottle of hard liquor to celebrate.

In saying all that it's still fucken compelling viewing.
-

yeah I read that, I see they said they had lots of storylines lined up for Deva, thank fark they didn't go down that road!

Agreed, I don't watch shows like Banshee for whiny teenage angst.
-

That's the part where Homeland died for me. The whiny teen daughter.

On Banshee I think this reviewer hits the way we all feel.

Do you reckon they were even hers? The Cersei nude walk was all CGI. -

That was defintely CGI/body double last night. And the whole effect looked shit.

I agree that it looked fake, but according to the owner of the pair in question

"It's so exciting, very tingly-making. Every season I get at least one spine-chilling moment. I just stand up and I go, 'I'm hearing what you're all saying, but funny thing, I'm going to kill you all. I forgot that I have an ace in my back pocket and now I win.' I'd like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3. That was awhile ago. It's now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I'm just feeling genuinely happy I said 'Yes.' That ain't no body double!"

surely if Cersei is smart, she will use the Tyrrels to destroy the High Sparrow and his merry men, rather than those fomr Kings Landing, that way they can distance themselves form it if there is an uprising.

But agree, I dunno if Olenna will be easily fooled....
-
What next? Airwolf?

Yeah, a few convenient things to help but I was satisfied. -

damn, I forgot to watch that, probably wont get to tonight with GOT lined up.

Watched S1 of Peaky Blinders, pretty good.

I like Cillian Murphy, and Sam Neill seemed good too, unsure how good/bad his accent was, but seemed decent to me.
-

Read back in the thread. This has been explained so many times.

Basic explanation is to click on the BB COde button (3rd from top left) and scroll down to click spoiler.

Banshee

[spoiler]Pretty good wrap up and could have been much worse. I think the showrunners have done a good job of putting a fullstop on the series without resorting to gimmick.

Some of the things that annoyed in S4 became obvious why they were there.

- the whole serial killer/ FBI thing provided the opportunity for someone to hand Hood his file and show that they have known who he was for a while but chose not to do anything (which adds to the whole 'sometimes in order to enforce the law around here you need to go outside of it' thing

- the serial killer thing created a diversion from the obvious Burton killed Rebecca conclusion. It was not meant to be a twist just made the viewers dismiss Burton for a few episodes so the 'reveal' was more believable to Hood

The convenient bits were obviously the Nazi senator appearing to bring them back into line. Ignoring the fact that Calvin killed a workmate and walked out of his office covered in blood yet no one seemed to be looking for him.

I thought the Calvin and Kurt fight was very clever. Made a home backyard setting for a sibling fight and when Kurt didn't want to shoot Calvin the fight was like a kids backyard tussle which made the conclusion more dramatic.

Proctor's ending was good too I thought. His demise came from his own scheming and not just a bullet from Hood. He reaped what he sowed.

Job's departure was a crack up 'Suck my tit!"[/spoiler]
