    Going through this list:

    Film list: Erotic Thrillers Forever

    Film list: Erotic Thrillers Forever

80s - present. Mostly DTV with some major studio content in the mix. All are firmly rooted in the thriller genre, no horror or action leaning titles. Lots of "naked", "passion", "sins", "heat", etc.

How do you watch these? 90s erotic films are the bomb.

@rancid-schnitzel if they have had a recent blu ray release there are a bunch of streaming sites that have them. Only takes a bit of googling.

Absolute Power - Clint Eastwood fucking hated sex demon Bill Clinton years before the Lewinsky scandal broke. Only one of those two went on to take many flights on Epstein's plane, and go to his Island without his secret service detail (see his long time head of staff Doug Band's interview in Vanity Fair).

In the ‘90s, America’s bourgeois critics praised the tepid satire of the thinly-veiled Bill Clinton allegory Primary Colors (1998) while dismissing the atomic truthbombs dropped by the thinly-veiled Bill Clinton allegory Absolute Power (1996).

    @tim

I think we need to cut Bill Clinton a bit of slack in re his relationship with Epstein. You never know what your actions would be if you'd been married to Hilary after all.

Is there a worse cliche in movies than a kettle whistle while a person is getting bad news? It used to be used for suspense, which was also done 1000x times.

No. The worst cliche is the sergeant shouting "C'mon people, let's go!"

Nope... that same sgt yelling "watch your six" - and then everybody creeping forward peering forwards for danger.

I once had a screensaver of Bill Clinton playing the blues on his sax. The backing singers were Monica Lewinsky wearing knee-pads, Gennifer Flowers wearing a stained dress.and Paul Jones. It was a doozy.

Or when Sgt Apone from Aliens said ‘they ain’t paying us by the hour!’

But Aliens is awesome so I can’t really point the finger too much.

Red Notice - Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot

I enjoyed it, Reynolds with his usual one liners, Johnson is good value too, Gadot is hot as always.

I'd say it's a bit Indiana Jones and a bit National Treasure.

@nzzp yes, read the book too, gets into a lot more detail and the big journey which is him leaving and arriving in the movies takes several chapters, maybe more

@kiwiwomble wasn't really much in the jungle...

Rock seems an extremely busy man with movies, rapping, making tequila and working out...

Might have to look for the book on The Martian.

@taniwharugby considering the number of movies that manage to have no jungle scenes...i think its till noticeable 😉

I use to quiet like the rock...but hes one of those actors that plays the same character in every movie.....so when he's in so many it is just becoming a little repetitive, we watched the second Jumanji a few weeks ago and the wife kept asking when different things were going to happen...except the the things she was thinking of were from svseral of his other movies

@kiwiwomble I think the fact he is in high demand and seems into everything isn't helping, although tbf Reynolds is doing well playing the same type of character.

Old Henry - A western about an injured bloke being chased by baddies who ends up at a farmer’s house in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma. There’s more going on than anybody realises. Like Nobody but with horses and hogs.

A warning though, no boobies, no hotties, fuck it I’ll just say it: there’s not a single woman in the entire movie.

I've had some average movie watching over the past week.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire: Don't believe the hype. This movie has gotten rave reviews across the board so thought I'd finally get round to watching it. It was a decent enough watch but not The Godfather of female romance films I was expecting - probably more the Donnie Brasco. French. A little bit of boob.

Some fucking Netflix Xmas film: A new rule, I wont blindly watch a film because I like the stand up starring in it, there's one funny joke in the 10 second clip I watch when it pops up, and the actress looks attractive. Has Jimmy O. Yang (from Silicon Valley) and some hot chick but is a terrible by the numbers catfish Xmas movie. I don't even think it would be fun to ironically watch while drinking with your mates like some of their other films are.

The Laundromat: Soderbergh - tick. Great cast - tick. Topical-ish story - tick. Big Short style - tick. Final movie - half a tick. Just didn't work.

Last Night in Soho: Yay, finally an actual really good movie. Psychological thriller starring Tomasin McKenzie (Kiwi actress from Jojo Rabbit) and Anya Taylor Joy (big eyed actress from The Queens Gambit) directed by Edgar Wright.
