This is slipping away now. We really needed that wicket.

we will do well to get to 150.

    200 would be outstanding.

    anything more is just dreaming

Piss off with that negative talk!

Anything less than 230 and we got this

    pffff

If India can score 387/4 chasing, 230 is easy.

That Shreyas is a little bit useful ... (again).

He just might have saved the Waitomo Limestone Cowboys XI yesterday.

Right. What do we need to do to reverse jinx this? I'm running out of reliable go-to's...

That's a strange umpires review to see if it carried.

It was not a player review to see if it hit the glove.

Missed Shreyas early on when we didn’t have a first slip for Southee. Might be the test.

Patel has a pretty handy first class record so is another potential spinning all rounder for them who might hang around…..so India have three and other countries have none.

I don't see too many terrors in the pitch at this stage. Tail enders are not being beaten by the ball often. Not too much sharp bounce for the likes of Wags. This could still be a draw if India has a lead over 250 and NZ does not go for it. If we get them for less and have 7 hours to chase then we have a shot. Will India declare at 270? Interesting next hour as all results still on the table.

Does anyone know why Saha is allowed to bat but didn't field all day and from the sounds of it won't be fielding again?

He came in after 5 wickets were lost so has served his penalty time for being off the field:

Back to back 50 run partnerships by the Indian lower order. Well played by them.

What for? You get an ‘Oh yes’ these days for not doing much with the ball either in the air or off the pitch…

I’m really, really surprised at how ineffective our spinners have been on the whole.

                                          Really surprised.

The lesson from this is we play Wags every day of the week and twice on Sundays, I don't give a shit what the pitch is doing, we just don't have a test class spinner. Playing a spinner over Wags minimised our strengths and maximised theirs, we're never going to beat them at their own game.

(he says with the benefit of hindsight)
