FFS that DRS guy seemed to go to Ireland vs ABs levels of trying to find a way to give Ross out

That was a lot closer than it looked initially.
If the keeper takes the bails off half second later...

Bad light will be a factor if the game is live near day's end

The commentator is starting to annoy me now. We are pretty happy with a draw from here.

I'm torn. Ordinarily I'd want to see us go at this total. Any time. And if anything more so now as we're the fucking world champions and should live up to that. But I also get why an away draw is important in the TWC cycle. History will judge us if we bat out a draw. But I'm a bit put out that we're playing this safe.

Look at what happened in the first innings. Seems the pitch has the potential to surrender wickets fast

There’s no way any team is chasing at much more than 2.5 an over on this fifth day pitch. Well, not without throwing away wickets at regular intervals…

Ross Taylor sadly looks every day of his 37 years and 266 days (thanks, CricInfo) with the bat. Devon Conway will be needed back very soon, and Will Young won’t be going anywhere…

Farewell tour back in NZ then let the young kids play. Need to let Young try to claim the opening spot, Conway at 3 or 4 whichever one Kane doesn't want

Yeah I think @shark may be right.

Ross looking extremely past it. Could be time for some serious thoughts about retirement. He’s been one of our absolute best but those days look long gone.

Why not Conway as an opener ? He went ok there

I'm okay with that. But where do we put Young? Conway can bat at 1 2 3 or 4 easy

Young still isn’t an automatic pick much as I hope he will be soon. They might go Latham, Conway, KW, Taylor, Nicholls, Blundell which leaves Young with no particular place to go ( thanks Chuck Berry )

Taylor would be doing them a favour by bowing out at home this summer.

That's what I'm saying. If Taylor leaves Young can try to play for a position. But if he tries to open Conway would have to move. To 3 or 4. If Young doesn't mean it Conway easily slots into opener

I don't see them getting though all the overs unless they bowl spin all the way

Nicholls has often been a player who has ridden his luck with the bat. Not someone you'd pick to fight out of a tight corner...
