Ross using his feet is a good thing, the lines he is playing down are another thing...

Rossco in. Pretty late in his career but definitely a good time to get his first test triple ton.

I think he's having trouble even seeing the ball.

Would be a hell of an effort. Way to retire on a high.

If he gets 3 runs, I’ll be pleasantly surprised…

    4...

That was just painful from Taylor. Time to retire before the selectorial axe has to fall.

Should’ve been 2. He got given 4 runs without even hitting the ball.

Yep. That should be his last test. Sorry to say.

Ross, thanks for your excellent past service but you need to go.

That was irresponsible and fucken appalling from ball one. ESPECIALLY from someone as senior as him with KW not there.

Aggression is one thing, but he was just having a slog. Not good.

    So, umm ...

    At least we beat 26.

What is the biggest ever margin by runs?

He was like a boxer who doesn’t know when to quit. When KW and Conway come back the decision should be pretty easy.

To be fair India are far from full strength themselves (No KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, R Pant, Jadeja, J Bumrah, M Shami).
New Zealand needs to develop the ability toi win away from home in less that perfect conditions, not just remain as home track bullies.

They had some reasonable success in the last cycle. And they were very competitive in the first test. But we need all our best on deck and we ran into a buzzsaw here in Mumbai

I don't know why you are using past tense. This one is still going on.

    Not for long

Nicholls is also batting slightly for his place. He needs to score some runs soon or he might be toast as well.

Pretty odd by Ross - he was still scoring good runs for us in June so I'm struggling to believe his eyesight is now shot. But, if he can't be bothered he should have stayed home.

Maybe he's got Delhi-belly and didn't want to suffer the ultimate indignity out there!

I'd still give him the series vs the Bangles - provided he genuinely wants it. With Kane sitting out, there's still a clear place for him.

    There isnt, though.
He'd be blocking Will Young. Time to go.

@rapido Young would bat at 3 in my team.

He'd be blocking Mitchell or Ravindra - which is fair enough if he still wants to play.
