Yeah - excellent fightback by England, but so much more needed.

As Warnie was pointing out - they're effectively minus-58 for 2. Somehow they probably need to be plus-150/4 to be close to parity.

Funny, funny game - Root largely untroubled for the last half hour and then suddenly last ball of the day he fishes at Green outside off stump and could easily have had a calamity.

So many little points that can do your head in.

@nta Never in doubt. A thumping victory that makes me think of Steve Waugh, Johnny Howard's trcksuit, Thorpedo and big Johnny Eales in his prime.

What a disaster for England. Leach hit out of the series. Stokes hurt. Robinson hurt. Couldn't happen to a better group of blokes. Why fly to Adelaide when you could just take a right turn and go all the way home, save everyone the trouble of watching you limp to sad defeat after sad defeat.

The only reason to go on is to give Jimmy Anderson a fitting send-off from test cricket - limping off with a hamstring injury as Australia pass 500 for the second time in Adelaide.

        Was funny huh?

Burns thinks it's going down leg. Who said he wouldn't get out the same way as the first innings. He tried hard to.

that first ball swung, though. Moved the most of the day I understand.

Fifth test will be Hobart. That's the best outcome IMHO.

Yeah - I was thinking this morning it was pretty unlikely that both overnight batsmen would manage to successfully restart and make 100. And always the possibility that if Oz got one, they'd get two.

                      They got three.

England really need two guys to get hundreds from here - most likely these two. Probably need to still be batting at lunch tomorrow - unless forecast showers severely disrupt tomorrow afternoon's play..

Still 10 runs before Oz has to bat again.

Once again, my daughter's annual dance concert is fucking up my cricket watching.

7 down for minus 5. Nice.

England all out at lunch. Australia need 20 runs afterwards to go 1-zip up in the series.

Difference between these two teams is attitudinal. Australia are ruthless, England are lacklustre at the moment.

Carey gone. England must be ruing not bowling first after winning the toss.
