He openly accused the government/police of being racist because they wouldn't let him form a training bubble.
Again, whether right or wrong the guy has a gob and he uses it which is bound to piss people off (Twin Towers/Rape/Police are Racists/Chip on the shoulder speech).
Yes the old farts are conservative but that's my point. Don't be surprised he isn't given a platform to potentially embarrass them. -

Reality is that is a list of some excellent sportsman, some next tier sportsman playing in the big leagues and some I've never even heard of despite following NZ sport to the extent I post on a sports forum about it.
It's beyond a joke to have no MMA representation.

I actually have little issue in not being able to win it for the above reasons. But to not get nominated is simply not good enough.
There is no way somebody who came 11th in the premier league in scoring statistics is the NZ sportsman of the year nominee ahead of an actual world champion in a growing sport unless there is outside political involvement.
