Curry will be talked about for eons as will Lebron.
Lebron brought something to the game that was pretty unique, a 6’8 freight train that was quick, powerful and the skills of what traditionally a 6’2 guard had. Add to that the winning and status. Bird is still my all time small forward though, but that is just my preference and not a slight on Lebron at all.

It’s funny when you think at Ray Allen and Reggie Miller, I think most will think more about Reggie because of his personality, confidence and some of the freakish stuff he did and the fact he stuck with one team (in a smaller market). Add to that his sister was a freak in terms of scoring too! Loved Miller Time.

Whereas Ray Allen hoped teams, is a bit ho-hum in terms of personality, but could really really shoot. He is more in the mould of Dale Ellis who Reggie beat for the record all those years ago.

Steph has had the freedom and worked freaking hard to be able to take 3s in a variety of ways that when you look back will have people thinking “what, how did he do that?” Add to that all the other parts of his game, the moving, all the screens he sets (like no other guard I’ve seen), the way he has scored around the basket, the assist game (when he wants too). He’s a bit of a unicorn in my eyes. People say Dame, but Steph does not have to be ball dominant and given the way Chauncey is trying to change the Blazers offence, Dame has been found a little wanting without the ball as much.

@act-crusader Reggie Miller is one of my all time favourites. A stone cold killer in a big game.

Another example of toxic NBA fans. Apparently to the modern NBA fan, Reggie was shit.

When we picked our favourite starting 5s a few years back Reggie was my SG. If my life depended on someone making a FT, he would be taking it.

@act-crusader Seattle Ray Allen was really freaken good, people forget because he played so many bit-parts in his later career - basically 25/4/4 on 45/40/90 shooting with very little help

Indeed. Those bigger numbers at Seattle were at that latter part of his Sonics stint too (his 10th and 11th seasons).

When he was at the Bucks he was basically a D Wade type that would attempt 2 or 3 3s a game which was a lot for the mid to late 90s.

Just on Bird and Lebron and all time teams, this may not be a popular choice, but by the end of his career, KD might make my team.

The dominance this guy has on the offensive end and the skill level on that mid range game is off the charts. His defensive game has improved out of sight too. Triple double threat too.

@act-crusader KD's been the best player in the league this season.

He's defending 1 - 5 and basically an automatic bucket in the 4th quarter.

He's actually more fun to watch when he's the lone star in the team. With no Harden or Irving in the team at the moment, he's taken his game to another level.

He's the best scoring forward of all time and a good off ball defender. Could he make top 5 all time? Tough one, knocking Bird and Magic off is a big ask.

But the interesting point I reckon is your ranking criteria. Best career, highest single game ceiling, guy you want to build around for 10yrs, or the guy you want leading your team into a finals srries.

MJ wins on all criteria for me. LeBron edges KD and all others across most criteria for 2nd, but if you're talking a single game ceiling, I could maybe be talked into KD over him..

Another interesting debate is your best starting 5 of all time to play the Martians. Because then you get into team composition and guys like Pippen, Hakeem, Shaq, TD, Curry come into play...

@dice and love how he and Mills are playing together. Mills really has been the beneficiary of the Kyrie fiasco. No way Mills is getting the court time or shots with Kyrie there.

The shame for Brooklyn was that Harden was actually starting to play decent just before he got crook.

Some of these lineups in the last 3 games, Nash would never ever thought would happen given their original roster and the depth of experienced players. Great to watch though.

@act-crusader ESPN has reported that the Nets are considering bringing Kyrie Irving back to the team for road games. I think this is a mistake. Introducing a guy (albeit a star) who is not following the rules like the rest of the team may have unknown consequences and affect the locker room chemistry, not to mention that I wouldn't trust him to be responsible and minimise risk of getting covid19 and spreading it to the rest of his team. The lack of consistency may cause confusion or angst for a team who are already in first place in the EC

I meant I agree with the Nets original (and current, still) position i.e. not letting him play just the road games and never practicing, as its horrible for team chemistry etc. I think them wavering on that would be a mistake.

Yeah. It's not like they are desperate, they r in 1st place. Better to load manage KD if that's what they r worried about

He may as well also engineer a trade for Kyrie to join him and get them to draft Bronny...

@tewaio said in NBA Season - now 21/22:

@canefan yes, sorry wrote my answer in a hurry.

@canefan The Nets have a lot of players out, so you can understand why they might want to use Irving when he is available.

The NBA has postponed the Nets' next two games because of the COVID-19 surge that has decimated Brooklyn's roster.

Brooklyn's home games Sunday against the Denver Nuggets and Tuesday against the Washington Wizards have been postponed, the NBA announced Sunday.

The Nets currently have 10 players in the league's health and safety protocols, including stars Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving.

@voodoo this was a hot take that BS said on his show. Said he is throwing it out there that a journo would cite an "anonymous source" saying something along the lines to create another year of speculation of where he will go.
