@nta we don't all get the luxury of playing England.

    Good point.

You also don't have the luxury of Kane Williamson right now.

Yeah, him and Watling would make me feel much more secure. Not sure Latham is much of a leader. Our depth is certainly being exposed.

Part of Latham's problem is that he averages 17 as captain and 42 when not. Small sample.

Not watching the match, but it's not a good look if we're mouthing off. Part of our secret of success has been not behaving like dicks. Stead might need to put his big boots on and kick a few arses.

But with Taylor about to go, KW injured, Blundell not very good and an extreme reluctance to give it to a bowler ( notwithstanding Cummins efforts ) who else can do it ?

Whatever the result, I would drop Jamieson for Henry, and Southee for Patel for the second test.

Before the usual Southee suspects get all wound up; if you can be left out of a team after taking ten wickets, you certainly can be left out of a team after bowling over after over of military medium right arm mince and cheese. Ditto Jamieson.

Watch him bat the house down tomorrow 😀

He is due for a jammy 70-odd. I'll happily send beers his way if he does... 🙂

    Tedious guys.

Tui Meme did make me laugh though so it's now in the right thread.

Back on topic, outstanding form by the Black Caps to make a dead, boring, slow, uninspiring pitch a tough one to bat on.

Bowling that many overs can result in numbers 10s and 11s tactlessly cowboying on their bats to celebrate 50s against exhausted bowling units. Small mercies we avoided that ignominy this time.

    Sorry Dad! 😉

One thing I noted about this game having dropped into Cricinfo every so often is the run rate - it isn't crash hot, eh? The Bangles look to have bowled fairly well but both sides are fencing around a bit if you believe the commentary, and the YouTube highlights are anything to go by.

    Hardly a green snorter either.

I just want this nightmare to be over then I can can flick the channel and laugh at England.

Free entry at Bay Oval tomorrow. Might be quite a few Bangladeshi fans starting to think about travel from around the upper North Island with history potentially beckoning for their overseas record.

Might go back tomoro and try to cheer Roscoe to a match saving ton.

It might be the easiest day of the lot to get a spot with some shade 🙂
