As far as I can tell all you are doing is buying a crypto key and what it’s connected to is basically non-existent. So to that extent, yes it’s very much like a cryptocurrency. The big difference seems to be that where a cryptocurrency is fungible an NFT isn’t. You need to have someone who specifically wants to buy your NFT.

The Bored Ape stuff is piss take too, selling a cartoon of an ape for 200k USD - then they flip the image and sell it again. It is just a money grab of rich cnuts, some of it. But it really shows the idiocy of a lot of people
