I mean. I also bowled around wicket to LHBs at high school. But that was because I couldn't swing it when pushing it across the pitch to LHBs, but if went around the wicket then my action would correct itself and it would swing again. (I could only swing it in the one direction )

    But that's because I wasn't good.

This article sums it up pretty well. Went from 14% of RMF-to-LHB balls in the mid-00s to 52% between 2018-2020.

I don't appreciate evidence being used to discredit my post. That's not really in keeping with the spirit around here.

Henry was outstanding during the CWC19, I'll always have a lot of love for him due to his performances there. He was a key part of us winning the whole thing (which we did, despite England lifting the trophy, and yes I will say this every time I mention that God forsaken tournament).

Yeah, Guptill is a fantastic ODI player too. Doesn’t mean I want him anywhere near the test team.

Guppy is such a brilliant batsmen - unfortunately when the bloke plays in a test he tends to freeze, the feet don't move, if he takes some of the confidence from the short form into a test he'd move his feet much better, allowing him to get in line with the ball to defend solidly, also he'll show better shot selection & leaving etc... confidence as we all know is huge in any sport, get tentative & you're in real trouble.

Blundell was under big pressure with his lack of runs going into this test... so was good to see him score a top 50 odd not out.

I always thought he was a 5 trying to open.

Did he get much of a go in the middle order at test level?

Not enough. I agree with you. He looked to me to be a ready made 5 or 6 in the test game. Think Nathan Astle.

Yeah I thought he maybe needed more chances…..but then Nicholls turned up and the rest is history.

That looked so out live that the players didn't even bother to appeal. Just celebrated. I thought it was clearly off the bat.

I feel sorry for the umpire on that one.

100%, he should never have been opening in test cricket, nothing about his game suggested he would succeed in that position, that really was braindead selecting. Astle is a good comparison - someone that goes hard at the ball which is great for ODI and T20s, but won't last long at the top of the order in tests.

@nzzp put him an EV for added spice, wasn't the fuel tank capacity a thing in that case?

2 to go as Bangladesh are now 269/8. Wagner and Jamieson the main weapons in this innings. Congrats to Litton Das on his century.

    Is his pace down too?

Glad he’s got a few wickets this innings. Could still get 5.
