Rodgers peaks very highly of him, which probably just means he lets Aaron do what ever he wants

The "Aaron Rodgers to Denver" comment mill be in overdrive now

      Big Ben retires.

PITTSBURGH -- After 18 seasons as the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement Thursday morning.

In a video posted to his Twitter account, Roethlisberger announced what became obvious over the final weeks of the 2021 season.

"The journey has been exhilarating, fueled by a spirit of competition," Roethlisberger said. "Yet the time has come to clean out my locker, hang up my cleats and continue to be all I can be to my wife and children. I retire from football a truly grateful man."

Great career. Probably stayed a season too long. Pittsburgh will be on the hunt for a FA QB if they can't draft high enough. Another potential Rodgers landing spot

I'm surprised about the the talks about him going there.
If Rodgers wants another ring, going to Denver will make it even more difficult. Go up against Mahomes x2, Herbert x2, and Carr x2 every year.
Next year they're playing the NFC West teams too.

Mind you, I thought Brady to the Bucs was crazy moving to the division with Matty Ice and Brees.

Denver is pretty good and a lot of cap space. It's a good destination

                Yeah, that sucks eh.

I'm not a fan of the 14 team playoffs. Going back to 12 makes a lot of sense, and reduces games in the season for players again too if you drop back to 16

I was never a supporter of his, but I'm kind of sad he's retiring. He's just always been there ever since I first started following the NFL.

Amazing player, and one of the luckiest ever. Just rewatched the Rams game - to even get back to parity had a 4-0 turnover, from usually reliable players. It's crazy - he's awesome, clearly the GOAT ... but not as good a QB as Rodgers. Just more winning.

100% to both of these. If you had to pick someone to win a game, it's TB. His track record speaks for himself, primarily due to the intangibles. If you put him beside Rodgers (for instance) he's not as talented or capable a QB. Buuuut he wins the big and big moments (usually).

A healthy dollop of luck helps, and incredible longevity. And playing under Belichek for years.

                                GOAT for me

The league will not be the same.

It's now way easier, to win, you had to at some point slay Brady. Now that spectre isn't there.

Redefined what success in the NFL looks like. Has created a record everyone will be compared too, and no one will ever match.

Fuck you Tom Brady you magnificent bastard.

I watched his recent doco series on ESPN. May not be the most gifted QB but his most valuable gift was an unrivalled work ethic and an unbelievable mental toughness

I felt the same way for a while, but I'm convinced that Brady is the much better leader and can bring a lot of value to the team that isn't shown in the stats, so if I had to choose between the two to start a team, I might pick Brady.

I've always seen parallels between him and McCaw.

100% to both of these. If you had to pick someone to win a game, it's TB. His track record speaks for himself, primarily due to the intangibles. If you put him beside Rodgers (for instance) he's not as talented or capable a QB. Buuuut he wins the big and big moments (usually).

The NFC could suddenly get very weak for a while if Brady retires and Rodgers goes to Broncos.

Almost all the young QB talent is in the AFC.

                                        The AFC is suddenly brutal.

I think this move almost guarantees Rodgers won't go to the Broncos. That man needs another ring, and that chance just presented itself.

I don't think he can win it in GB unless they make major upgrades. Or he engineered a move to SF 🙂
