Had another thought, we’ve seen Ahsoka found like, I wonder if here series is going to show where she was during the original trilogy

Edit: another thought re the finale, strikes me as the perfect opportunity for a two parter with a cliff hanger, maybe leave evil chewie’s return a bit longer and cut it with mando off in one direction, all the others in another, boba had disappeared, we think evil chewier is dead….

Could have meant they could have had a bit more build up at the start rather than them just finding out the war had started

@mn5 the fact you missed it kind of suggests it wasn't a big deal 😉

Live-Action Darth Maul Disney Plus Series Reportedly In The Works

Live-Action Darth Maul Disney Plus Series Reportedly In The Works

A live-action Darth Maul Disney Plus series focused on the iconic character is reportedly in the works at Lucasfilm.

Love action maul series? Could be great but quite a lot of his story was told in clone wars and rebels, so are we going to see his story leading up to us seeing him in menace or are they going to start the telling stores from the animated series?

Thought it was a fun series, too much crossing over which was padding?

They could have done more back story on Boba if they needed storyline surely?

Nice little earner for Tems retirement though I guess!

I've come to the conclusion that it should have been called "The Mandolorian - Book of Boba Fett" as the expectation that it was simply a BF tale didn't pan out.
It really was Mando 2.5 with a poorly managed flow.
Mando needed a gap to re-unite with Grogu and set up Mando 3. It was good that they didn't stretch that out. They took the chance to flesh out what happened to BF before Mando 2 and show what he was then going to do but much was padding.
In other words I get what they were doing but don't think it was done that well. Enjoyed watching it though (as long as I used my child brain)

    Shit that is Gold!

I wonder who actually captured them at the start. The palace was empty and it seems that the only people working for Boba were Fenic and white droid. Seriously, Boba is up there with Rick Grimes in terms of leadership and complete and utter tactical incompetence. Fenic is more Boba than farking Boba is. This series reeks of Disney just wanting to pump out more SW content for Disney+. Right now the only cash cows are Mando and Grogu. The sequels are already forgotten.

I’ve sat down and had a good think about the series…….and overall it was good but far from great…..I loved the attention to detail, Easter eggs, sound effects, special effects, Cad Bane, Bad Chewie, the Rancor, the Gamoreans, the little rat catcher droid, Fennic, Mando, Grogu and the Marshall were all terrific.…Boba was at times too.

….but the story wasn’t that amazing, compelling or original. The pykes were a very ho-hum bunch of bad guys ( in the end they were basically stormtroopers who looked different ), no compelling lead villain ( when you take into account Cad Bane was a henchman more than main protagonist and the mayor was instantly forgettable ), the mods were offensive and sooooo irritating and the mechanic lady was a pain too.

But then I’m 44 years old, this is a show I might have absolutely loved if it came out in the mid to late 80s it’s probably too much to ask for it to really wow me.

Being the Star Wars fan I am I’ll eagerly await the Obi Wan show ( a wonderful character who everyone loves )…..and less eagerly await the Cassian Andor show ( a guy with no lightsabre, armour, force powers or any unique skills )

We’ll see how they pan out.

Yeah fair call, it SHOULD be amazing but that’s not a given.

I’m far more worried about the Andor show, that has the potential to be a real fizzer

No one cares about Andor. That’s just a filler in the SW universe. May include the odd piece of information between Rebels and Rogue One but no worries either way.
Kenobi is a character that fans care about and with Vader being part of the story this one has to be good or the mob will March on Disneyland

In true MN5 fashion I can’t remember if I’ve said this or not but the Andor series MAY be good because he is so “normal” and situations that others would scoff at are genuinely dangerous for him ie hemmed in a shootout with five stormtroopers might be really tough going.

I’ve sat down and had a good think about the series

Me too, and I've decided it's near the bottom of the Star Wars camp for me (down with prequels and TROS).

The worst thing about it was starting off as one show and then morphing into another mid season and then coming back to wrap up the other show in an episode.

I'm also bemused that the talent involved in this show (Favarau, Rodriguez, Filoni - well I'm less sure of Filoni as I'm not an animation guy, but he seems to be a messiah to a portion of the Star Wars fandom and I've liked him discussing Star Wars on podcasts) could turn out something so disjointed. How did the CGI go backwards to 2000 level, how did Favarau write whatever the fuck this was and was he deliberately trying to approximate George's dialogue (poor Tem had to say clunker after clunker), how did Rodriguez manage to direct action scenes that look like kids playing war in the backyard?

Unlike lots of the fandom I didn't want to see Mando 2.5, I wanted an actual Boba story and was invested in that story before it became another show altogether.

It doesn't take away my love of Star Wars, the saga has always had hits and misses, the biggest misses being the prequels for me personally, so I'm going to watch the next series that comes out either way. I'll just file this in the don't need to watch again basket.

Yes, “the mandalorian: the book of boba fett “ would have a great call

One the the biggest things I’m worried about with obi wan is another series at least partially set on fucking tattoine

Andor at least has the opportunity to be something different, hopefully more on corosant, maybe less western and more spy thriller…will they mail it? Who knows

Good Christ. Apart for the last para, I agree with every word. This must be some type of watershed moment. As a massive Boba fan this was an equally massive disappointment.
