I don't think the 76'ers were robbed at all. Morey knows exactly what he's getting with Harden, and Simmons was a zero for them anyway. Harden will be amazing with Embiid, and we have a gazillion pieces of evidence that says when you have a superstar in their prime, you do whatever you can to win now, because it ain't lasting.

Agree re Nets though, an engaged Simmons is perfect for them.

    Genuine win/win trade.

upon reflection, yes, win win, both teams better

Biggest question mark is how does this affect Kyrie? Does it spur him to get a needle and play? Because that's a game changer.

It's only the first quarter and Doncic already has 28 points.

I just watched Lebron and KD draft their All Star teams. It was more entertaining than I thought it'd be.

The end was quite funny. With only two players left on the board, KD had a choice between Harden and Gobert with his last pick and he selects Gobert haha. KD is stone cold.

Harden just looked disinterested of late. Like his exit from Houston I expect him to make a huge improvement now he's moved on

Only surprise in the Nets / Sixers deal was the Andre Drummond move. He’s been playing very well and is the perfect sub for Embiid. He still rebounds like a beast and can score when needed.

Some other moves that might shape some things differently come playoff time - the Clippers got significantly better with Powell and Covington.

Charlotte getting Montrez is a massive win for them.

Cavs getting a pretty decent scorer in LeVert for basically nothing is good for a team I enjoy watching.

Schroder who was having a good year, gets traded from Boston just means more shots for Brown and Tatum 🙄

Close game between GS and LAL. I can't believe they can play like this and be so poor against for so many games. They look like they will go down but probably should have won after the luck eluded them at almost every turn in the final minutes. Made some good plays but failed to finish. Jeez Anthony Davis plays so small for a big guy. Settles for the fade away jumper far too often when he should bang it down low

Josh Giddey is having quite the rookie season. Another triple-double today even though they couldn't beat the Spurs

    The kid is pretty classy.

Anthony Day-to-Davis rolls his ankle and will be out for a bit i think

If you are the Lakers, do you blow the whole thing up? The roster is fucked, they have no draft capital. You could get some pretty sweet pieces for LBJ...

I mean, it will never happen, but it should be considered.

Should have traded AD. LBJ will probably leave soon

    Crazy night

Nets were getting blown out by the Knicks. Came back to win
Warriors were always comfortably in control of the Nuggets until they choked and lost to a last play 3.
Jazz led the Lakers by heaps and gave it up for the L as well

Love the 3 point contest. This and the slam dunk comp are the only things worth watching on ASW

Yesterday's slam dunk comp is getting an awful lot of shit. Can't argue. Felt like it went on forever, starting with the painful wait for the first dunker to put on his Timberland boots. And then it was just continual attempt after attempt interspersed with the occasional underwhelming success. They're all generally trying to be too tricky and the success rate is very low. It's terrible TV. Unless it gets a shake up and improves significantly next year, it might have to be moved back and the 3 point shoot out made last on the schedule so All Star Saturday finishes on a high.

And the live music was fucking shit. My crowd highlight was Guy Fieri sucking on an unlit cigar.

    Re: The Dunk Contest
Should we be surprised? It's been going forever, and there are only so many ways for overly tall men to jump up and put a ball in to a hoop
Add in it's always "contested" by fucking nobodies, and i wonder why anyone bothers. Should just be another skill in the skills challenge.

In other news, the rumblings of discontent about just how much power star players have now are front and centre after Harden sat his fat ass down until he got traded, doing the same thing for the 2nd time in 2 years. This is a weird one, because i feel like the Nets did well out of it. But there is that feeling, especially from the small teams, that if you get a superstar player, he's going to fuck you later on.

And related to this, LBJ is already ensuring his undertalented son is going to get drafted to the NBA very very early, as he has said he will finish his career where ever his son is playing. Some poor schmuck of an organisation will make that trade and that draft.
Best response to this "announcement" i have seen is that we can't wait to see LBJ get his son traded away in a package for one last ring-tilt.

@mariner4life I don't watch a huge amount of ball but across a season I'll see a smattering of most teams, plus highlights, and the only bloke I'd heard of was Toppin.

I agree there are only so many ways to dunk the ball, but on top of that, they're all sacrificing power for trickery and it's a shit watch. Next year I'd like to see Zion, Tacko Fall, Steven Adams and Giannis just try and spray glass all over which ever shit rappers happen to be near the hoop.

I tried watching the All Star game but I have had to give up. Sport without competition is boring for me.
