Watched Inside Chernobyl with Ben Fogle last night.
Was a pretty good watch!
It even rhymes!

The Beatles: Get back Disney+
Just watched the first episode. Peter Jackson has produced a snapshot of a month in the life of the band near the end of their existence. I found it interesting to see the tensions but also the fondness that they still had for each other. And watching the creative process was amazing. If I forget how talented they were this leaves you in little doubt. They were geniuses.
Edit: I've finished the 3 parts, just an excellent unfiltered look at the band, it dispels old notions even held by McCartney himself that the sessions were marred by bitterness between he and Lennon. Harrison is shown to be a more creative force than you might expect, there was a lot of 3 way collaboration. And the huge contribution of George Martin, he really was the fifth Beatle. And the myth of Yoko breaking up the band is put to bed. A satisfying watch

This is a bit retro - but, I just came across it and enjoyed watching it. Shot in Westland and Mt. Cook National Parks. Health and safety - and skis - were a fair bit different back then.
Might be a bit too retro for young 'uns but, @Crucial et al probably remember it and might enjoy a re-watch.
For years afterwards my group of friends only skied in jeans - no matter how cold or wet. We were Coolsville, but will probably pay for that stupidity shortly!

An historian, of whom have read pretty much all his books, goes all nerdy over early post war Brit a/c genius. Very interesting, stuff I never knew. Um, like the most prolific jet ever, MiG 15, being powered by a RR Nene - such a shit decision meakes Boris' b'day cake error of judgement look a little small!
Use a VPN for BBC2, I watched on Curiosity Stream.

The Alpinist - Think it's on Netflix.
Documentary about an Alpine climber, Marc-Andre LeClerc. Guy who climbs alone and has conquered some incredible mountains / climbs.
Really fascinating documentary, amazing the drive that the guy has. Should probably say now that if you've not heard of him, don't google him before hand and then simply watch the documentary as I did off the bat. I think knowing about him first would take away a lot of it.
Highly recommended

It’s mentioned on the previous page. I just watched 14 Peaks the other day so I should watch this to see if it completes an outstanding climbing trifecta of Docos (Free Solo being the other).

The Tinder Swindler is pretty interesting. It certainly made the girl question me about a few things given that’s how we met and that we’ve bought a house together. I assured her the mortgage payments wouldn’t bounce and my children are really my children. Hopefully she believes me.
Hats off to him in a sense, takes amazing skills to pull off cons like that.

I watched this last night. Not only is it a crazy story, it's a really well done/made documentary. Was completely hooked from the start.
I would never post it, but I was in synch with the Social Media trolls before I started watching it. That the woman must have been greedy, money hungry suckers & got what they deserved for being so stupid.
But lets face it, when everything checks out, and your being swished around in Rolls Royces, flying in private jets, why wouldn't you think he was genuinely loaded? Amazing the lengths people go to for a con.

Yeah that’s just it, and you would easily think that with the wealth/prestige he supposedly has there would be people “after him” and he might need a bit of $$$ to tie him over. Far more clever than someone emailing you saying a relative in Nigeria has died and they need somewhere safe to put their money for a bit. When you’ve been in the jets, cars, hotels, parties etc it all looks very genuine.
I still can’t believe the first blond chick ended up 250k in the hole though. What a fucken mess.

One of his latest posts popped up on tiktok just yesterday I think. On a private jet with a hot bird pouring him champagne or something and an entourage. Tagging in tinder swindler and thanking them.
It's made him even more successful it seems.

Well either the Tinder Swindler was completely full of shit or he's got a set of brass balls on him like nobody else.

@antipodean yeah when you look at the actual transgressions as well, it's pretty "HUH??".
