god, the Australian cricket team is relevant again for like 2 months after years of just nothing, and the great unwashed Aussie bogan is back in full voice.

I thought they were only relevant because the 00's a-hole versions didnt like been told they were hasbeens and sacked their coach

clearly the cricket result recently meant nothing as it was 3 v 4 th playoff for WTC

You’d think beating that English team in your own backyard was some sort of accomplishment the way he’s going on.

Can only play the gaggle in front of you 🤷‍♂️

    4/3, my god!

    3/4.

    FFS....

You’re like the yanks, you just have to do things differently from the rest of the world

With the key difference: we're right.

Take your straw clutching and leave this thread please, cheers.

OK. Just so it doesn't slow me down, I'll leave this here:

There’s a question I want to ask, without asking it and putting the curse of the fern on these two.

I have a feeling the answer is about 110…?

Anyone a mind reader and know what I’m getting at, and what the answer is?

    Edit;

Stand down, I looked it up, and the answer is 151.
    Still a long way off.

Just reading this now, but I know part of the answer is Brian Hastings, because I played cricket with his nephew.

Henry also was hitting around 140 ks quite a bit.
Extra pace was good he hit the pitch nice and hard instead of kissing the pitch,It makes a big difference on the bounces pitches.
Rabada still a big threat he is World class.Although Jansen is a threat with his bounce,Olivier will be the problem consistent line and length hitting that 6 to 8 m length and nipping it away,He is always a threat.
We might have to graft out the first session.

Really rate Olivier, has a good fluent action too.

Vital that we can build some really good partnerships.

2 good partnerships and we are in a good position,
We need a 200 plus lead then SA are fighting to stay in the game.
A lot of time left in this test.We get rolled with a 50 or 60 run lead and we have wasted a brilliant first day.

Was thinking we needed a 200 plus lead too - so absolutely rapt that we almost got a 400 lead, our pace attack have applied huge pressure on them from both ends, then there's the scoreboard pressure on South Africa as well... with them fielding for a fair while, then coming out to bat you'd expect us to get an early wicket, maybe 2, but to knock over 3 in that short period of time just before stumps was outstanding.

    C9..jpg
Day 2 - South Africa trail by 353 runs with 7 wickets remaining.

I for one welcome our Henry/Patel led attack going forward.

    Thought provoking post.

    Current age of our bowlers:
    Wags (loves Wags) 35y11m
    Southee 33y2m
    Boult 32y7m
    Henry 30y2m
    Kylo 27y2m

Wags is damn near 36! He is also seemingly indestructible. But I'm sure even he has a limit. Another year and he 37. Must start slowing down.

I know Hadlee stretch it out to 39 (days after his 39th birthday according to Wiki). But he was a shadow of himself by then, and he was also Hadlee, so a class above the rest of the bowlers, and we needed him.

Timmah and Trent, 2? Maybe 3yrs left?

Kyle young enough to give us at least 6 maybe 7. So thats good.

All the above assumes no injuries.

Henry has basically 3 years on Tim & Trent.

So we could have an attack led by Henry and Kylo in the not too distant future.

Who are the up and coming seamers?

I know we've giving a few a run in T20, but have any of them stood out? Who else is bubbling under?

Doug Bracewell, Scott Kuggeljin, Seth Rance,Ben Sears ,Jacob Duffey
Henry Shipley is a newer player coming through,
Or we try to get Ferguson and Milne into test mode.

he hasn't had the volume of cricket that Hadlee had.

aaand I just googled it. 57 tests vs Hadlee's 86. 12k balls vs 22k. so not as big a gap as I thought given how late to the party Wags was
