    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/rugby-how-lincoln-mcclutchie-found-his-place-in-super-rugby/45YR5MDZ7M5T2X6NBK44UCTFQM/

    Paywalled..

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before? A couple of other franchises were chasing his signature

McClutchie held conversations with several teams for the 2022 campaign, including the Crusaders and Hurricanes. However, Moana Pasifika came to him early in the piece, and he jumped at the opportunity for a role the size of which he likely wouldn't have had with other franchises.

        https://moanapasifika.co.nz/sekope-kepu-named-moana-pasifika-captain/

International powerhouse and Wallaby Test centurion Sekope Kepu will Captain Moana Pasifika for their debut season in Super Rugby Pacific.

Kepu’s duty gets under way with this Friday’s pre-season game against the Gallagher Chiefs at Mt Smart Stadium.

With 110 Test caps and three Rugby World Cup campaigns to his name, Sydney-born Kepu has been a natural choice for the Moana men. Kepu was the first prop to reach the 100 Test milestone for Australia and he is their most capped prop of all time. In total, Kepu has played 295 first-class matches including 141 appearances for the Waratahs and he brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the emerging talent of Moana Pasifika.

I've got some divided loyalties in this match with the number of Magpies in that backline.

From what I've seen in the game against the Chiefs, Alex McRobbie was the best MP forward. He should be in the starting XV, as a lock or a blindside flanker.

Not bad, securing funding from both Australian and New Zealand tax payers in its first year!

So season over, with what looks like a serious neck injury & surgery.

@Duluth I must be one of the few Ferners that have watched games at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, Teufaiva Stadium in Nukualofa, Churchill Park in Lautoka, and Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. Have also been to Apia Park and ANZ Stadium in Suva but not watched any games there. Honourable mentions also to Hunterville Domain and Collingwood Rec ground I think it is called amongst what would be well over 200 to 300 grounds I have watched a rugby game at!
