    Sing 2.

Same sort of thing as the first one, equally as brilliant. Look, if I didn't have kids I probably wouldn't go and watch, but I do. So I did. It's really well done, like most modern animated films. Had a few laugh out loud moments (once again, the auditions are hilarious) and even had a bit of emotion in parts. Really enjoyable, thoroughly recommend.

Also a reminder of just how excellent many U2 songs are. Shame that Bono has had to go all preachy.

5 perfectly cast Matthew McConaughy's out of 5 Auditions.

    Thanks!

Given that we are stuck at home, we've been watching a new movie each morning. Yesterday was Sing, based on this recommendation, and it was awesome.

As a result, I'm looking for other not-everyone-has-heard-of-them films, particularly on Netflix, that we could show our 3-year old. Any suggestions?

We've been through most of Disney/Pixar already (e.g., Toys, Cars, most princess movies).

This week so far, we watched:

Luca, which was 4 hill climbs out of 5 pesto pastas

Bolt, which was 3.5 annoying cats out of 5 power woofs

Encanto, which was 2 annoying cousins out of 5 where the fuck is the villain

@gt12 not a movie, but I could always handle a few episodes of Blaze and the Monster machines when the lad was younger.

I liked the Minions and Dispicable movies

The movie I hated that people seemed to like, was Wall-E. Fucking annoying

Mitchells vs the Machines - in my top 10 list of movies for 2021 (and I'm not a huge animation fan).

Uncharted: A mostly fun adaption of the game series but kind of ruined by a stupid set piece ending. Marky Mark was less annoying as Sully than I thought he'd be and Spider-man gave a decent account of what a younger Drake would be.

    Downfall

I've watched one scene plenty of times but had never seen the entire movie. The late Bruni Ganz is excellent as Hitler. Although a lot of the violence is off-screen there are some confronting scenes.

    Dragged Across Concrete
Yeah whilst probably a bit long and seemingly kinda slow in parts, actually a pretty decent watch. Basically, old Riggs and young, white Mutagh go on a stakeout, with a couple of other characters thrown in.

Edit, shit, sorry. 3 abandoned story threads out of 5 who the fuck was that half naked hot chick.

now, i love The Departed. I genuinely consider it one of the best movies i have ever seen

But i just read talk of a Departed 2??

The actual fuck is that? How in sam hell can you make a sequel to a movie where the main characters are all fucking dead?? (spoilers for a 16 year old movie)

One assumes it has to be based around the comic bit-part character? How does that even work?

    This stinks like shiiiiit

The Infernal Affairs sequels were pretty good, but I can't remember what they were about as it was years ago that I watched them. They may have been prequels, or based on the Alec Bladwin and Marky Mark equivalent characters.

    Dirty Harry

Always good to revisit every few years.

70s and funky, a bit dated……but yet so amazingly stylish. San Fran is as much of a star as anyone on screen.

….Clint rocks, the story rocks, the bad guy rocks and it pretty much single handely created the whole “renegade cop” genre of movies.

5 I know what you’re thinking out of 5 well do ya punk ?

Is that the one with Scorpio? The one where he save the kids in the school bus?

    Sure is.

Like loads of movies the first is an absolute classic ( and it really is ) and the rest are varying degrees of ok culminating in a pretty shite fifth one ( Liam Neeson and Jim Carrey are in that one )

That guy played four different parts in four different Dirty Harry flicks !

Licorice Pizza: I think I hate this movie. I really can't believe it is winning awards and getting critical acclaim. Awful characters, style over substance, a storyline that would be panned by all and sundry if reversed. Good soundtrack as to be expect from a PTA movie.

Early contender for worst movie of the year (TBF last years worst for me came out early in the year too).
