Couldn't think of two drummers less suited to be alongside each other than Ringo and Phil.

Pity we never got one with George singing and Prince doing the solo as Clapton's work here is just so inferior to Prince's interpretation.

@tim leads me to my next point

Justice was the reason that the band decided to.get.an actual producer, because they know they fucked up the album

    Enter Bob Rock

    Fuck Bob Rock

Thr Black album is fucking sick and better than the 80s metal heads will admit. I have a soft spot for half of load

Everything else he touched fucking sucked. Culminating in St Anger.

I have a hipster buddy who reckons St. Anger is awesome.

I use that solely to satisfy myself that hipsters are completely full of shit. It's fucking terrible.

    pong! pong! pong! pong!

i know this is your hill to die on but

so many of his contempories think he is an amazing player. And those guys have forgotten more about playing guitar than i have ever known.

For all of Prince's undoubted brilliance, you needed Clapton first - everyone has their influences.

A lot of people with recognised skill and an understanding of what he brought to modern music rate him.

Well yeah but I just think it’s amazing he is rated like he is when he stopped doing cool lead guitar in the late 60s and concentrated on boring MOR stuff and stealing JJ Cales songs and making them even more dreary.

He’s also an anti vaxxer who sues his fans but that’s beside the point.

Missed the point. Of course Claptons work on the original was good. Just that once you hear Prince's version you can't unhear it and the comparison is made.

The clip above isn't the best version by any means.

Prince was such genius in so many ways it boggles the mind. It wasn’t fair that he was a brilliant guitarist on top of everything else.

@tim Whenever I'm doing a bit of an KEXP binge, that always pops up, and I always click through on it... I suspect mostly as the band-name has tempted my subconscious which is hoping for:

By Christ Budgie may have been the ugliest band ever to come out of Wales. And that's from a country that gave us Goldie Looking Chain.

This is by far my favourite song by Dragon.

For some reason the old bloke shaking his head at the “bloody long haired poofters” ( I’m assuming that’s what he’s thinking, about 1.41 in the vid ) cracks me up immensely.

The look on the old fella's face was hilarious 😁 yeah, Dragon had some excellent songs, here's a couple more I like too...
