Basic explanation is to click on the BB COde button (3rd from top left) and scroll down to click spoiler.

Banshee

[spoiler]Pretty good wrap up and could have been much worse. I think the showrunners have done a good job of putting a fullstop on the series without resorting to gimmick.
Some of the things that annoyed in S4 became obvious why they were there.
- the whole serial killer/ FBI thing provided the opportunity for someone to hand Hood his file and show that they have known who he was for a while but chose not to do anything (which adds to the whole 'sometimes in order to enforce the law around here you need to go outside of it' thing
- the serial killer thing created a diversion from the obvious Burton killed Rebecca conclusion. It was not meant to be a twist just made the viewers dismiss Burton for a few episodes so the 'reveal' was more believable to Hood

The convenient bits were obviously the Nazi senator appearing to bring them back into line. Ignoring the fact that Calvin killed a workmate and walked out of his office covered in blood yet no one seemed to be looking for him.

I thought the Calvin and Kurt fight was very clever. Made a home backyard setting for a sibling fight and when Kurt didn't want to shoot Calvin the fight was like a kids backyard tussle which made the conclusion more dramatic.

Proctor's ending was good too I thought. His demise came from his own scheming and not just a bullet from Hood. He reaped what he sowed.

Job's departure was a crack up 'Suck my tit!"[/spoiler]

i remember seeing it but couldn't be arsed searching every page. There are people for sorting stuff like that

I think it's clear that Hood bagged Dawson, at least twice, but I guess gratuitous nudity was below Dusku's pay grade. Disappointing really

That's what annoyed me about the ending, her and Ana/Carrie were basically throwing themselves at him but no, he had to fuck off and do fuck knows what on his own. Loser.

In between them, Rebecca, Siobahn and that Rednecks wife he sure dusted up some fine tang :hi:
-

yeah I think it finished reasonably well, tied up most things well, reckon the Brotherhood head honcho woulda dealt to Calvin in fornt of that lot to send a message about killing one of their own, but that woulda taken away from the brotherly showdown!

Although I gotta say, lucky Brock did what he did, no way was that truck load gonna fit in that plane!

Fear the Walking Dead - holy shit why do they have such angsty wussy whiny wanky teens on TV these days, no one really wants to watch that stuff...I don't care if it aids the character development when they become great people. Think that was the mid-season finale? Am guessing at some point we will see a crossover character from TWD, possibly Negan?

See another series Preacher started, looks good, anyone watched it?
-

If Brocks hand slipped just a little bit it woulda been bye bye to the lot of them. Ridiculously risky move.....then I remember it's a live action video game so that's ok.

You can picture the planning.....

Brock: Ok the law is involved now....

Carrie/Ana: Well what shall we do ?

Brock: You and Job put yourself at considerable risk, murder some Nazis and get the drop on Proctor and the Cartel. Once you have them where you want you retreat then I'll fire my rocket launcher at the truck, hopefully miss you guys, and take out the drugs and most of them......I bet Proctor and Burton survive though, they always do....

Job: Sounds good to me honey

Carrie/Ana: Great plan, meet at Sugars afterwards for a whisky and a laugh about it ?

Brock was handy with his dukes but still by far the worst fighter of any of the main characters, including the women. Still an awesome character though......
-

True. Brock would have had a mountain of paperwork and Carrie had to do some more gibbing.
-

Rewatched the last two episodes again and the scene that pushes the bullshit needle to absolute critical is Burton killing EIGHT big, tough Nazis in about 10-15 seconds.

I couldn't kill the same amount of rats in that time.

Ridiculous.
-

Those Nazi dudes had come from the school of TV fighting where the bad guys nearly always approach the fighter one by one and in a vulnerable position giving the fighter a chance to slow down time and plan every move he makes with precision, picking them off one by one.

The logic of which always goes out the window when the fighters come up against a "main" character.
-

an extended helicopter kick can deal with multiple attackers at once, maybe that's just what he did?

Cos they didn't show it, you don't really know how he dealt with them, but what we do know, is he was so bad ass, that those 8 were always gonna be dealt to.
-

Nah.. that aint so bad.

1/ he was in a room full of furniture which would he wasn't getting attacked by all them at once.

2/ He was using weapons and trying to actually kill.

ok.. so clearly very unlikely. But not as bad as some other scenes.

I want to know how so many people in this world are such amazing ninja like fighters and how they all end up in Banshee. They never seem to train.

The fights that are complete bullshit are the ones where some hero fights off (by knocking out) numerous bad guys in a wide open space.
-

Aw fuck yeah....but you can cope with Arnie standing in a field and gunning down multiple people ( who are undercover ) cos Commando never tries to be anything other than a completely far fetched load of entertaining bullshit. Banshee tried to become a whodunit in the final season and got confused. Multiple assassins, Nazis, general thugs, government officials can get killed in huge gunfights in large numbers and strange chicks can burn themselves to death but the moment girls get murdered months apart the town loses its shit.

How big would Banshee be ? about the size of Palmy by the looks.
-

It looked a lot bigger in the last series.

It has always been total fantasy pulp fiction and I loved it all.

Even fairly hard critics admit that it went places no other TV show has and added some very clever production along the way. It was used as a vehicle to develop some good ideas and filming concepts. -

Given when Hood started as Sheriff there were what, 4 of them?

Final episode I saw at least a dozen people in Uniform wandering around at one time, and given the amount of crime there, you'd expect that would equate to 1/4 of the towns Sheriff-force, so say 50+, making it a decent sized town...of course I could just be making all this shit up in order to get a job in Banshee!
-
Peaky Blinders is simmering away nicely. Superb performances in ep 4 setting up Tommy to get that repulsive priest.

I love this show. The acting, the shots, the soundtrack. Its just quality I reckon.

It does need to be viewed quite intensely though I think with no distractions for an hour

2 more series commissioned last week I believe
