I enjoyed his TV show. His first comedy album, Shakespeare, is probably the best thing he's done. It's on Spotify.

I'm not offended, but, I don't really get his premise though, he's having a go at people for their false platitudes after a tragedy by making a joke about the tragedy? Then as part of his rant he makes fun of the attention people want by posting their platitudes. All the while he's posting a joke about a tragedy that's going to get him attention.

Agree, the first half was shit. Bragging about his attention seeking through behaving like a massive jerk, the last part would have been better without it.

What I have seen of him isn't really funny , it looks more like covering up his lack of talent by being outrageously crass. I have no issue with crass or offensive comedy I just don't think he's all that funny.

Doesn't matter what comedian gets mentioned on here. You'll always get a couple of posters saying they ain't funny.

I laughed, as did a rather large audience.

Well if we all thought the same way it'd be a pretty boring world.

Also we'd have nothing to pointlessly argue with strangers about on the internet.

He's saying the people who berate him for making jokes about tragedy are the same ones who auto-tweet after every tragedy using it to leverage themselves into the spotlight. The people reading his post tragedy tweets are not the people genuinely affected by it, they are the people desperately trying to climb onto the tragedy to get themselves some sad level of visability. Its the digital equivelant of people dropping off a teddy bear at the gates of a house where a kid they don't know & a family they never met died. But at which Sky news has a camera.

You've really never read someone on Facebook post tragedy talking about the time they blah blah so in effect their post is 99% "look at me in this time of horror" & 1% "I feel sad for them"?

Its like when Princess Diana died & you had people going "So sad! I met her & she spoke to me & was lovely!"

So thats 99% "I am special because I spoke to her!!! I'm sadder than the rest of you! my sadness is more important!!" and 1% "RIP Di"

That flip into Corbet's couloir would take big balls. You can scout around the internet and see how tentatively "regular" skiers launch themselves here.

One of my Mum's favourite arias, when sung by Pavarotti. I don't think I've ever heard a Soprano do it, because it is pretty much the domain of the tenor.

And I don't have any problem saying I shed a tear listening to that. Emailed the link to my Mum. She'll be chuffed.

Not really awesome, but rather than starting another "pro-death people are fucktards" I thought I'd post this here:

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/31734325/activists-crash-vaccine-event/?cmp=st

Anti-vaccination activists crash immunisation seminar

A public seminar on immunisation in Perth was forced to close early on Monday night after anti-vaccination activists hijacked the event and called doctors liars.

Organisers of the Telethon Kids Institute event had to stop a question-and-answer session after constant interruptions by the protesters.

The seminar was meant to give people, particularly new parents, a safe forum to ask questions about vaccines. But a few people in the crowd of about 150 interjected as institute director Jonathan Carapetis and infectious diseases experts attempted to answer questions from the floor.

Professor Carapetis said yesterday he was shocked and disappointed by their behaviour, which he described as disrespectful and intimidating.

“We knew there would be people from the anti-vaccine lobby because we’ve had them before, but this was a very orchestrated way for them to completely disrupt the meeting,” he said. “We wanted to be able to put up the evidence and answer people’s questions honestly but we didn’t get a chance.

“These people represent a tiny proportion of the population who are anti-vaccine but they use any public forum to push their message and drown out everyone else.”

Professor Carapetis said only two people had the chance to ask legitimate questions and everything else was drowned out. “We went on for as long as we could, which was about half an hour of them yelling and screaming, but speakers were paid such disrespect and everyone else in the audience was intimidated,” he said.

“We had a school group of about 15 or 20 kids in the audience who are studying infectious diseases and they said they were intimidated.”

Professor Carapetis said he was devastated that one protester misused comments by Professor Fiona Stanley, the institute’s former director, to try to support an anti-vaccine stance.

One of the main protesters, Shawn Dhu, who filmed the Q&A session as he heckled the speakers, said he wanted the world to “wake up” about vaccines.

Professor Carapetis said the institute would rethink about future events but would not stop providing honest information to the public.

“They want us to go back into our shells,” he said.

“And that definitely won’t happen.”
