batting 172 overs to save a test is legendary. Well done.

The aussie bowlers must have been cooked - basically 3 days in the field with only a single session off.

with the benefit of a bit of hindsight, absolutely the right call to bat again. Best chance of winning it without risking losing it.

Your going to have to explain this one to me ....

Still looking like a terrible call to me. Draw the most likely winner at the moment. We'll never know if the follow on would have changed that or not, but we can be sure it wouldn't have increased Australias chances of losing (with the benefit of hindsight too).

I'm totally baffled why with 12 overs left and 4 wickets remaining they took the third new ball and kept Lyon and Swepson (with figures of close to 0/150) on. Cummins and Starc bowled less than 13 overs per day over Days 3, 4 and 5. That is low for a standard test , let a lone a test where you took a luxury break to put your feet up in the middle of it. Strange captaincy all around and I'm sure the coach will really be laying down the law to the players.

Though that might get the coach dismissed, given recent history...

it's made to look terrible because Aus then took 7 wickets in 171 overs.

My thinking was, the extra 100 took any thoughts of a win out of Pakistan's head, and batting to avoid defeat can be mentally tough. And i also expected the pitch to break up.

It didn't, it was a road. And Cummins' decision ended up mattering little.

Absolutely shithouse series, i thought we were done with this crap. 2,431 runs, 43 wickets, a total run rate of less than 3.

I was kind of getting at that. Definately more of the Fozzie than the Langer. Cuddles all around.

They've had a recent trend of not getting past the post in 4th innings bowling efforts. 5 times in last 2 years (4 of them under Langer) .

Several Facebook pages have reminded me that we've reached the anniversary of one of the great moments in cricket...

It didn’t matter that India racked up 413-6 or that they secured a 257-run win, both World Cup records at the time; this game would forever be remembered for the opening ball of the second over, bowled by Bermuda’s Malachi Jones, the 17-year-old’s first World Cup delivery

Bumble and three minutes of brilliance "they absolutely squashed him":

Wisden: The Dwayne Leverock catch that shook the world

@mn5 I took Wisden's headline as a riff on Bumble's commentary, which itself was a delighted dig at the impact of Leverock's dive...

Poor start but geez you can’t keep Australia down these last 30 or so years.

The lowest batting average in that top five is Travis Head with a very fine 41.64. Khawaja doing a Langer and reinventing himself as an opener to great effect. The bowling line up speaking for itself. The only discernible weakness seems to be finding a keeper who can hold a bat.

With Rossco gone and KW broken we sure as hell can’t say the same, they’re looking in much better shape for the test championships it has to be said.

Another slow day for the run rate. Pakistan did pretty well to get 5 in a day, and apparently could have done better with decent hands.

Khawaja gets himself out in the 90s again.

the boredom in Pakistan continues. Australia laboured to 391.

Pakistan have basically crawled to 90/1

    Destined for a draw.

Three draws in a row is not good for getting to the WTC final. I think Aus have to play India away, as well, which will be damn hard.

COuld be some tasty matchups coming towrads the end of the cycle. Barring a miracle, we're screwed with our losses to the Bangles and then SA
