@mikethesnow Not sure another lockdown is necessary yet, unless there is a new variant in NE England. Better would be to up the vaccination rate again which is half what it was a month ago.

Sadly the problem is not supply, but younger people refusing to take up opportunities to be vaccinated.

Of all the fallout over the past week, the feeblest response was the guy at the FA explaining that the shambles at the final would not impact England's bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

It won’t. Take your pick of any country willing to « sweeten » their bid. Such as a hot desert country like Qatar…

Good thing for the Italians that they celebrated winning the Euros like they had won the World Cup because they are not going to the World Cup for the second time running.

                  Great goal by North Macedonia:

@sparky Ronaldo will be happy a) Portugal beat Turkey 3-1 and b) they will fancy their chances not having to play Italy I hope North Macedonia go all the way!

Gareth Bale scored 2 as Wales beat Austria 2-1 to face either Scotland or Ukraine in June

North Macedonia has a population of 2 million - definitely punching above their weight.

Having won it in 2006, Italy's record is remarkably poor since.

2010: Bottom of group finishing below New Zealand
2014: 3rd in group finishing below Costa Rica
                        2018: Didn't qualify
                        2022: Didn't qualify

In the Euros during that period they have made the quarter-finals every time, winning once and runner-up once.
