Top Gear, the new version hosted by Chris Evans and Matt Le Blanc.

Awful, embarrassingly awful.

Penny Dreadful is in danger of the GOT treatment ie too many stories at one time. It does occasionally have some real frights though, great stuff !

I'm pretty certain it's historically accurate but I can't figure out how a rough Scotsman like Jamie would know French so well ? or am I being naïve.....?

Coming to Paris and taking over a flash house and selling wine seems a good gig though, better than the shitty fucken highlands at least.

Also.....
Claire thought Randell had died when he got trampled by the cattle, she didn't seem so concerned but then she found out he was actually alive and implored Jamie not to kill him, at least not til later. Given that he preferred intimacy with blokes I can't see how he ends up being Franks ancestor......so it's ok she marries and gets pregnant to another bloke, how come she is so concerned about Frank ?
well...
Frank is an innocent, he is not like the bad Randall, although in her normal present time he seems to be a bit of a fluffybunny.

That is why she wants to save Jack, for Frank, although Jack marries that bird and is a great grandfather of her hubby, he isn't or was never the father, it is his brother who told her he was still alive.

Obviously we are in the midst of flashbacks given Claire has gone back to the future to live with Frank...although Jamie obviously finds his way there too.
When she thought Randell was dead the first time after they broke Jamie out she didn't seem concerned for him ( Randell ) in the slightest but she does now is I guess the point I was trying to make.
I am just speculating of course, but go right back to the very first episode I think it was, and Frank bumps into Jamie who is standing outside in the rain at the place they are staying.

I guess in the heat of that moment, she was happier Jamie was ok, but knowing Jack was ok, meant a chance for Frank?

I haven't watched Outlander, have left that to the missus. But as for the question about knowing French, don't forget how close the ties between the Auld Alliance was in those days, both politically and trade. Plenty of Scots fighting for France and vice-versa.
French would have been a second language after Scots and before English.

The books are, but still a good story line with plenty of sex and violence to keep males interested...plus, refer to what Ronin says above

I got it off BBC iPlayer. I had high hopes. But there's no chemistry between the presenters, and the producers just seem not to have got the joke, i.e. that in the old version the presenters were the joke.

The old crew appeal was that they appeared to be clueless, ham-fisted and useless, and a bit bewildered by the real world. They may have loved cars but they didn't in fact know much about them (the average 15yo boy could tell you much more about the cars than Clarkson and co could), couldn't drive all that well and held strong opinions based on not very much. They gave the impression that if they weren't doing this for a living there's bugger all else they could do. They're farking idiots and dinosaurs but I'd happily have a beer with them.

Chris Evans may be an alright guy but I'd pass up the beerage opportunity I think. Too earnest.

I'm still waving the flag for Peaky Blinders (the BBC show, not Hooroo's nag). Ep 5 just shown, one more to go

Tom Hardy captivating, brilliant and bloody good too

David Bowie (RIP) asked the series creators to please include something from him in an episode and got his wish granted posthumously with "Lazarus"
