@bovidae haven't even watched suicide squad yet

Me either, so I was going in blind for this series.

@bovidae really? i assumed you'd need the introduction, WB probably think theyre doing something clever by making these so you can jump into the DCEU anywhere but really, for some of us anyway, i just dont have that extra motivation to watch, fear of falling behind

I had several friends catch up on the whole MCU during lockdowns etc

I don't think you need to see it first but it does spoil some parts of the movie.

I like The Peacemaker, but discussion about it on another forum raised my expectations way too high and I was expecting a masterpiece. It's a good adult comic book show, not as good as Deadpool or The Boys but still good fun to watch as expected from something from Gunn.

I think you do need to at least see the second suicide squad movie for context. You can get away without it of course but it certainly helps.

As for your second point, yep there is a lot of adult humour but not The Boys level for sure, still I am enjoying watching

Jack Reacher starts today too with they guy who plays Hawk from Titans as the lead, wont be for everyone, but thought he did ok there (I did not stick with Titans though lol)

Zack Snyder's Justice League was one of the movies I recorded when I had free movies on Sky over the Xmas break. Now I just need to find 4 h to watch it!

It's in four chapters with natural end points in the story, so can watch it like a series.

I finished watching this over 2 nights. Much better than Whedon's theatrical version and this movie felt more like the Marvel epics. I thought I was back in the 1980s with the 4:3 TV ratio.

Like moving comic panels at that ratio

how they didn't release that as a epic two part deal and went for the cut down version is still beyond me...Marvel has paved the way for these huge multi part superhero stories...they just had to walk down it and make lots of money

And Zac wanted a 2.50hr movie and they said no, and they release a three hour Batman...

@kirwan The Batman once again raised a interesting point

I struggle to see how THAT Batman would work in a DCEU, how the more "real" detective type Batman would sit next to actual gods, really highlights that there really are two Batman's
