Poor episode. Worst of this season by far. Advance apologies for not knowing everyones name, I'm more of a Star Wars geek.....
 
Brann spends the whole of the first few minutes being the useless, spaced out fucken deadweight that he is while whatshername bravely drags his arse through the snow. They get saved from the undead in the nick of time though. Fuck Brann is a tiresome character.
 
Aya has decided she doesn't want to be in the club anymore so guess that'll be interesting to see what happens. Her mentor who looks like he should be fronting Whitesnake or Poison seemed most disappointed.
 
Sam goes back to his Dad who predictably still thinks he's a big fat pussy.
 
Walder Frey makes an appearance and is still a horrible cantankerous old arsehole.
 
Jaime confronts High Sparrow just as there is hope that Marjory is gonna get her gears off and do the walk of shame which would be pleasing on the eye. High Sparrow pussies out and there isn't even a big fight.
 
Cool to see a big dragon at the end and to hear Bronn and the Mountain get mentioned but next few episodes best improve on that and quicksmart.

Rancid Schnitzel

I usually just fast forward through the Arya parts. Apart from some (admittedly wonderful) breasts, her scenes seem to be nothing more than her smashing sticks together with that prudish looking bitch and then having the French pervert looking dude saying something weird about "a girl". 
Yes it was a crap episode (apart from Benjin). I wonder if many people actually remember who tf Walder Frey is. The Sam stuff was a massive waste of precious time. 
Next week promises to be better though. The Blackfish-Jamie confrontation should be good.

Expect that's why Walder mentioned the red wedding...seems he still hasn't found out what Ramsay did to his daughter otherwise that would surely be a priority, cos he seems quite big on dealing with people that cross his family.... 
I thought Jamie had gone off Cersei, well at least as the sister-fucking-brother part gone off in the books? 
The whole Sam story seems pointless, am sure it'll have some tenuous link to tie it back. 
I guess they had to introduce 2 more stories to allow Uren plenty of time to find trees to make ships, and with that, Dany mentions needing ships and there is a huge fleet recently taken from the Iron Islands... 
I suppose with Marjory out of lock up, we should see less of the high sparrow fluffybunny, so one way of reducing his screen time (hopefully) without killing him, so obviously saving him for something else.
 
Also, very few people seem to die of hypothermia despite spending a lot of time trudging about in the absolute freezing conditions

Wee bit of violence at the start with Benjin dealing to a few undead but nothing too exciting. No titties at all.....as I mentioned though hoped we'd see Marjory get her gears off, if not then a massive fight. Got neither.
 
TR mentioned hypothermia, surely Brann is a candidate while lying prone in freezing conditions ? at least other characters actually, you know, move and all that ?
 
Walders daughter is the fat one who Ramsay set the dogs on right ? ( again, I know Star Wars backwards, struggle a bit here and there with GOT, first two seasons I had DVD foldouts detailing the family trees which was very helpful )

Disagree, that episode was pretty important for setting things up, in fact it was kinda momentous in that regard. We know now how final stanzas will play out.
 
 
Dorne and the rest of the south including Kings Landing are now ruled by twats that will look good impaled on the end of Dothraki Spears and roasted by dragon fire. In the middle you have a bunch of likeable characters including the Blackfish and soon Jamie Lannister. Chuck in a couple of big armies up north and you have a recipe for a big fight there as well.
Then you have Sam completing his mission to get a sword capable of actually killing a white walker, that sword will presumably find itself headed north.

You make some good points I'll give you that ( don't think you need to bother with spoilers, this thread is enter at your own risk ). Sam not standing up to the old man irked me. 
 
Can someone enlighten me on that "many faced god" bloke ? we see him cutting the face off someone with a knife, I assumed he has some sort of supernatural powers.

I need a refresher I think, better half and I did some serious binge watching over the Summer break but I almost feel we shoulda taken notes. Neither of us could genuinely remember if Walder Frey was alive or not.
 
That Red Wedding scene was ruthless as fuck. Robb Starks hot wife getting killed was particularly heartbreaking.

Stink, in a show full of hot women she was one of the best in my opinion.
 
I agree though, you can only assume he doesn't know what Ramsay has done ? news travels fast or slow up north depending on the whims of the writers and how it effects the plot at the time. He's a lunatic as well ( not in Ramsays league ) so wouldn't be surprised if the betrayal by the Starks is more of an insult to him than murdering one of his kids to be honest.

Exactly. The guy is obsessed with getting respect and linking the Freys with the great houses. It makes no difference though, because I suspect this will just be forgotten, like all that bizarre shit that happened in Dorne.

Her family lost the throne, not because Robert was a dick but because her father was a psychopath and her brother a horny idiot with a thing for Northern girls. In fact her entire family is a bunch of inbreed Ptolemaic type sibling rooting weirdoes. I hope she dies but I suspect she'll win out in the end and the dwarf will be her hand.

I think any chance Jorah possibly had for a sympathy root went out the window when he showed her his disease ridden arm. Shame, he's one of my favourite characters.

Like many my initial reactions were, yawn... Little action and no titties. The only cool things were the very late introduction of â€œCold Handsâ€ and then he is revealed as Uncle Benjen. Also Drogonâ€s appearance was also very cool.
 
But then I couldn't sleep so I got up and watched it again and then this morning Iâ€ve read a few recaps and like BSG I now think that was a huge episode in terms of setting up things for the various story lines.
 
What that episode seems to confirm or at least give credence to is some of the Theories surrounding Bran.
 
Of those, there are 3 main theories:
 
1. Bran Stark, given his â€œtime travelâ€ abilities is thought to be one and the same with all the â€œBran Starksâ€ throughout Westeros history including Bran the Builder. As Ole Nan said, there must always be a Bran Stark in Winterfell
 
2. That while he doesnâ€t have control of and an understanding of his abilities, he goes back in time and attempts to fix things but instead makes things worse such as whispering or appearing to Aerys Targaryn, the Mad King, warning of the White Walker threat and this causes Aerys to go mad and wants to burn everyone. This seems to be supported by the number of flashes to Aerys in Branâ€s visions
 
3. Bran is in fact the Lord of Light. That when he gains control of his abilities, his whispering and warnings of to various people the coming war against the White Walkers (where of course fire is one of the main weapons) he is elevated to god status and those he whispers to have become the priests and priestesses of . It also explains why Melissandre and the other adherents to the Lord of Light speak of the â€œPrince that was promisedâ€œ to defeat the White Walkers and that prince looks likely to be Jon Snow
 
And one final theory, which I quite like, is that the 3 eyed crow was an earlier incarnation of Bran himself and young Bran, is now the 3 eyed crow â€“ which was confirmed as this was how he was addressed by Cold Hands/Uncle Benjen Stark.
 
What sucks is that there are now only 3 episodes remaining in this season and yet no sign of the Winds of Winter being released however GRRM did last week just release another chapter from the book.
