makes me thing, for all their holes and problems.....i did kind of like at least the first two of the Chris Pine movies, enjoyable action rather than..."good"

I like all three, the third might even be the best.

I just wish they would tone down the action and up the smarts. Tell a good story first, and let Star Wars be Star Wars.

@kirwan cant argue with the second point, a bit more balance wouldn't go astray

...might have to watch the third one again tonight (wife away)...cant remember specifics but remember not rating as high as the others...at least i remember them destroying the ship and thinking TNJ did that....a lot...i dont know why they kept being given them!

Yeah, am over that cliche as well. But it's the closest so far to a big budget episode of Star Trek.

Disappointing, I have all the Star Trek films on my spreading services except beyond, figured it had been out long enough to be available

@tim The sad thing is this season is much better. Still not really Picard though, it's really jarring.

Not sure yet, quick look isn't showing anything. If they don't give me a legal way to watch....

If it has an episodic structure, with space exploration, emphasis on teamwork and competency, and has a hopeful view of the future I'm down for the nostelgic window dressing they are throwing my way.

I'm not after Citizen Kane, I'm after junk food for the brain.

I was reading that they aren't even showing this in 1080p. Maybe 720p is good enough for those watching on iPads, etc but really?
