I hate almost everything about televised rugby. The dribbling build up, inane crosses to players and coaches, terrible in match commentary and the utter lack of analysis afterwards.

    Uber

(Before I start Mrs Boo took the wind out of my GOM sails when, sitting in a 6th floor apartment having a quiet in Cotton Tree, looking out over the Alexandra Headland beach across towards Mooloolaba, and whinging about getting a ride from the water front restaurant on the Maroochydore River that hey we've got it good, we're not in Ukraine, or Lismore, or south west Sydney ... so fuck it first world problems ... )

    But Uber.

First time I've ever used an Uber (Ms BooJr does it all the time), and worked brilliantly to get to dinner about 5 mins away.

    Impressed. This techno shit works.

    Getting home though ...

Hook up on the Uber app. Dude is 5 mins away. Cool. Track on the app. Wait on fulla you've gone past us! Oh, ok ... you're on a job and you'll get us next, cool ... hang on why are we looking for another driver? Oh ok, got a driver here in 5 ... Wait! What? Why are we looking for another driver... another... another... 7 fucking drivers!

So I rang a cab and he's here in 5 minutes.

Fuck this Uber shit where they can ditch you. Accept a job and honour it you fluffybunnies.

@booboo I HATE Uber. Refuse to use. It's a good front-end app, but everything else sucks.

Your driver is 7minutes away! The fuck he is.

    7 means 13 every time.

$10 fare tonight, no way, surcharge! That'll be $27 please!

I call my local cab company whenever I can.

    I quite like Uber.

If a technological retard like me can use it fine it can’t be all that bad.

Always had an issue with Uber v Taxi given the cost and regulation of a taxi license. Am leaning towards sticking with the cab companies.

You want to try Ola then if you think Uber are a pain. They're probably worse.

But then cabbies are often piston wristed gibbons too. On a holiday to Sydney one time I once had one drop me a km in the opposite direction of where I wanted to go because the ride was too short.

And even though I'm in the city it's usually quicker for me to get an uber than a cab.

I've been living here 6 years now and I still think people just make random names for places.

He's not based in Sydney was he? This twat that dropped me a km away was an Arab dude ... probably a bit young to be your old man though.

I'm all walking/public transport if I can. Loving the light rail in the city lately.

Oh, I walk everywhere, occasional Uber. Haven't used the light rail since pre-pandemic (or any other public transport) but might do if they make it free in the city as mooted 😉 .

Also, if they had the Dulwich Hill line running up George St (the lines are there) I'd use it more as I could jump on at Paddys and get up to work - especially in these endless rains we're having.

@nepia free always better, but even so - I'm near Wynyard and had a meeting in Surry Hills yesterday. $2.25 each each way, and a far more more pleasant experience. Would have cost $15 each way easily to share a cab with @Bones Dad.
