@catogrande They struck back pretty well, limiting the Poms to scoring just another 26 points in the remaining 50 minutes.

Overall an improvement in the later stages of the game, showing the superior fitness of the Scots girls.

A really good article by the excellent Nick bishop on rugby pass, need to subscribe. But key point about the two best sides, but both succeed with their style

Here are some of highlight raw stats:

France kicked for the most metres per game (1084m) and Ireland the least (691m). Even within the kicking game itself, Les Bleus finished top in long kicks (79) and Ireland bottom of the table with 47.
Ireland made the most carries (139) and passes (211) per game, and set the most rucks (105). France made the fewest carries (99) and passes (115) while setting the lowest number of rucks (72 per game).
Ireland enjoyed the highest time in possession (over 20 minutes per game) while France had the lowest in the competition at 16-and-a-half minutes.
Ireland achieved the highest proportion of lightning-quick (one to three second) ball at 69 per cent, while France had the lowest ratio (40 per cent).

    @machpants

Interest stats. The trouble is from an English POV is that Percentage Eddie would take that as kicking wins games, end of. Sure France kicked a lot but kicked well, chased well, didn’t generally kick when in the opposition half and certainly not when anything was on.

    Exactly

Think the old phrase was ‘horses for courses’

    And Georgia

    Two of our WC group

    I'll be happy with 2-2

Not an easy itinerary. Georgia the only given and that will be a very physical encounter.

I've never seen the name of former Magpies lock Sanaila Waqa in connection with the Japanese squad. First call-up?

Edited to add the media release in English:

As much as I love Lydiate, why?

Unless our other flankers like Thomas Young and Botham are injured.

    Same for Priestland.

    The rest picked themselves.

New boys have been playing well but would still have gone with Young and Botham

We’re going to be hammered regardless
