@jk Nah, He's confirmed as starting.

Oh wicked. Just saw his twitter a couple of days back said it was a game time decision and he hadnt updated anything since.

Agree if he won then the Goatest of Goats but yeah I think just making the cut will be special.

Wow! How huge is the Tiger effect on golf!!! I just love it. Biggest story of the Par 3 contest was Tiger practising on main course.

PLayers are pumped he's back and know that they need to concentrate on their own game despite the Tiger Tide around them.

The tiger effect is insane .... for what it's worth, I don't think he'll make the cut.

Time is right for Cameron Smith / Scottie Scheffler for me.

I tend to agree. He'll only make the cut on his class. I don't think his rehab will get him there

Just been talking about this on the radio this morning ... still one of, if not the best, sporting moments I've ever watched live (on tv)

@jk putting is always key around Augusta, get it on with those greens and you are half way there, and he's shown he can putt.

It looks like after Round 1 the score to make the cut is sitting at +2 (or better)

What a belter of an opening round. Set up for an awesome weekend. Big guns at the top (Smith, Scheffler, DJ), Rory not tanking his opening round like he has for the last five years (yet as I write this sentence he misses a 3ft par putt on 14), and of course Tiger muthafukkin Woods doing his thing. How. Good.

I'm such a giggly fan of what Tiger has done today, I can't stop reading about it.

Love this from him: β€œI felt good,” Woods said. β€œOnce the adrenaline kicks in and I get into my own little world, I knew I should be able to handle business.”

14 months out, and being in contention of one of the greatest majors of the year is "handling business"

    That's some mental toughness.

Tiger battling today +3 on the board playing 13, as are many right now, with -4 leading.

Tiger made the cut. Scottie Scheffler leads by 5 after 72 holes and must be the big favourite now.

Schwartzel, playing with leader Scheffler has just holed out for 2 on 10 to move to -6, which is typically a tough hole, but he is still 5 back, although Scheffler has a tough up and down ahead of him on 10.

Smith sits on -5 through 12, Lowry-4 through 10 as the only other one right now in touch.

for a short time Cam SMith had closed the gap to 3, -7 v -10, but a Smith bogey on 16 and Scheffler birdie on 13 restored the 5 shot gap.

Poor old Kevin Na, 5 putt 6 on 16.
