    @catogrande only because I didn't get it

    I’m imagining at the racecourse as the horse comes thundering towards the finish line, a bunch of excited women screaming come on My…

    Probably to be inclusive, a few blokes as well

    No doubt, but I don’t want to be imagining that.

    Yep, I knew it was a key part of the Phoenican Empire. Imperial Purple! That’s why a lot of purple things are called blue, purple was such a rare colour that there was no common usage name for it. And the alphabet yes, been around for a while

    @machpants I knew the undies but had forgotten the snails. Despite doing Classics and Ancient History at Uni. Of course they called it Current Events in those days.

    Hadn't put it all together though. Very cool.

    And here's me looking up the actual passages ...

    D'oh ...

    When all the people were being baptized by John, Jesus also was baptized. [L And] While Jesus was praying, heaven opened

    [L For] God loved the world so much that he gave his ·one and only [only; unique; T only begotten; 1:14, 18] Son so that whoever believes in him may not ·be lost [T perish], but have eternal life.

    John answered, “If you have two ·shirts [tunics], share with the person who does not have one. If you have food, share that also [Is. 58:7].”

    He had healed many people, so all the sick were pushing toward him to touch him.
