Matera and Blackadder were Hugh for the Crusaders especially in the 2nd half
Bower and Jager put in good shifts.Mounga too.

Gallagher,Newell, and Williams are really developing for a 20 year old and 2- 21 year olds especially as they are tight forwards.
It will be interesting to see How Havilli and Christie slot back in next week,Jordan of course will be back at FB.

Fantastic to see Goodhue back for a first real game back in a year I thought he went really well he will only get better and better.

Drummond was shit.Bridge even though he did some good stuff his lack of pace showed out at FB.If Jordan has played we probably would have finished off a few more tries.

Crusaders tackling at 97%, Rebels 73%

              Somehow it’s only 7-0

That first half we played like a bunch of over excited school kids - needed to just settle down and trust the process.

His lack of pace was exposed a few times from FB not his best position.

I can’t see him in the top xv anymore.

As I posted earlier, if everyone is fit it’s a fight between him and Ennor for the bench spot.

Yeah, a good comeback. Didn't do anything spectacular, didn't do anything poorly and lasted 60 minutes. I'll settle for that.

The big back row worked well. Missing an out and out fetcher but wreaked havoc both offensively and defensively. Grace defends close to the ruck and runs support lines up fat man's ally allowing Matera and Blackadder to range wider. Will be interesting to see if it is as effective against a better side.
The Rebels were pretty poor so it is hard to judge anything really. Crusaders were guilty of white line fever at times and some scatterbrained decisions so left a lot of points out on the field.
Ennor...... Havili and Goodhue as the midfield FFS!

I will be mildly surprised if Razor selects that midfield after steadfastly sticking to today's one the last couple of years. Best coach can't be wrong!

                                    From https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/hits-and-misses-but-super-round-worth-a-second-shot-20220424-p5afp7.html

Super Round will return for a second year in 2023 but expect it to be in round two of the competition, before the NRL and AFL seasons kick off. The concept, based on rugby league’s Magic Round, could be an excellent addition to the competition - but there is work to do.

The crowds were loud and spirited but modest, with 30,000 through the gate over three days and seven games of rugby. As a destination event, designed to lure over Kiwi rugby fans to fill Melbourne’s hotels, it flopped, but that wasn’t helped by understandably jittery New Zealand travellers, a paucity of flights and long-weekend plans.

There also needs to be across the board buy-in to put the ‘super’ in Super round. The rugby was quality but there was no razzle dazzle off the field to give the event that festival feel and while the Brumbies triumph over the Highlanders was a highlight, there should be more buy-in from the Australian teams. It’s a tough ask when you take into account Super Round’s complex reporting lines.

The concept is actually ‘owned’ by New Zealand Rugby, who’ve licensed it out to events company TEG Sport. TEG in turn negotiated a two-year deal with Visit Victoria to bring it to Melbourne, then paid the New Zealand teams who had to surrender home games a flat fee of about $300,000 in compensation for lost gate revenue.

Watching recording this morning (dunno result and haven't read thread).

Amusing to watch the Blues supporter cheering enthusiastically for Cantab try (first try to Grace).

somewhere that the Kiwi franchises were given a flat fee in lieu of gate takings.

@NTA Its a great concept, much how the sevens atmosphere was at its peak. Just not sure Melbourne is the best place for it. Ill be honest that I am in Victoria and I didn't really hear anything about it.

                                          @chimoaus because Victorians 😉

I do wonder how it would go at the new stadium here in Sydney next year, instead of Melbourne. What they need is a band set up between games or something to keep the crowd engaged.
