Looks like a confrontation between Vader and Obi. That's really
Any money that Inquisitor is about to kill Obi, but then gets a conscience and sacrifices herself for the greater good. But I did like that comment by Owen to Obi about "like you trained his father". Well played that man.
High hopes, low expectations. Hopefully it's more Mandolorian than Book of Boba.

@MN5 looking forward to this, confirming what we’d heard about it being a limited run, one series
There is talk by both actors of abother series, so may not be certain yet.

It looks a big step above both. I think we’ve discussed before that any meeting of DV and Obi-wan is not against canon.
I think it could actually explain better why Obi-wan becomes a hermit. There are indications here (and in previous canon literature) that he planned to train Luke earlier than he did. Maybe he needs to witness Anakins power first hand to change his mind, much like Yoda had to fight Palpatine to understand that he had to retreat. -

Vader is obviously in it but I don’t think he’ll fight Obi Wan. Just force choke a few officers who can’t find him. A small role like in Rogue One
-
@Crucial thats kind of how i feel, i need more to believe Obiwan would just give up and hide, he says theyre going into hiding at the end of RotS but it feel like just to wait, there was still hope
In saying that, this could all be clever editing so that people THINK there is the confrontation coming
-
if we do see it...how do we see it going down?
I feel obi wan has to "win" again to make DV's line about master and apprentice make sense

Perhaps, plenty of ways for it to be interupted too.

How is it not against cannon? It's going to take some interesting contortions to make it cannon.
Regardless, I think it's good that we may see why Obi was pretty broken by ANH. It would be very meh if he just ditched Luke then went to his cave for 2 decades and wait for the right moment.
-
do we have to do this yet again? its simple, its nowhere in the "official canon" that they never met between RofS and ANH

There is also the "now I am the master comment". Would seem a strange thing to say if DV had kicked his arse and exhibited his awesome power.

Take it easy. It's simple logic based on the dialogue in ANH. So maybe it isn't enshrined into Cannon but c'mon man. At the very least you have to admit that it's taking the piss a bit.
-
I don’t know if it will b covered in this show but there has always been a key line from ANH that has never been explained properly in the up front canon.
“Strike me down and I will become more powerful than you can imagine”
Is this reference to OBW living like a monk to commune and learn from Qui-Gonn about becoming a force ghost? I believe it is canon that QGJ “discovered” this ability and passed it on.
I would be cool to see that conversation as a wrap up to explain OBW’s later behaviour. -

but thats all we're saying, canon is just the facts...."head canon" is what everyone infers from those facts, the facts do say they never met so no, i dont think its taking the piss

From a certain point of view, obviously
If an interpretation of dialogue upsets you to the point that it ruins your enjoyment that’s your loss.
Actually, I just remembered that the Rancid one has his fingers in his ears for lots of this conversation. I think he has my posts blocked.

Sorry, you've completely lost me there. Look, I'll concede that it isn't absolutely carved in stone cannon but fark me it's still taking the piss. It's also easily avoidable. We don't need a confrontation. Just seeing Obi witness Darth obliterating his opponents would be red meat enough.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel i agree with the last bit, witnessing and finally giving up hope
not sure whats hard to understand though, people infer their own meaning on what what is actually shown, thats on the people rather than the creator. Canon is purely facts, theyre not bound by what people want to believe

We’ve seen him in the shorts which is more than we can say for all the bullshit rumours about Harrison Ford being seen on the set of BOBF.

thats what i was getting at before, i think Obi Wan needs to "win" or be winning, maybe even something really platant "you still have a lot to learn Padawan", could be cheesy, if done right it might work

I am so glad I can watch and enjoy Stars Wars without over thinking shit.
