The Canes have too many 8s anyway so it would be good for NZ rugby if Flanders makes that move. The Canes currently have Savea, Iose, Laubsher and Flanders.

@Canes4life I'd rather see Flanders start at 8 for the Canes and Ardie move to 7 permanently, but the coaches have been making it hard for him to stay with their stupid selections.

@Stargazer so would I but Ardie’s an 8 for the All Blacks so I doubt they’ll move him, especially when we have Gibson and Kirifi as specialist 7s.

@Steven-Harris It will be interesting whether Flanders will actually stay at the Canes. His combo with Mikaele-Tu'u would be very beneficial to the Highlanders, but that will probably only happen if Frizell moves on.

At the same time, Mikaele-Tu'u is also off-contract (I think, not sure). So many questions ....

Hopefully he leaves. I'd rather he even go to the Crusaders than stay with Wellington.

        Yes please.

I should rephrase that - I'd rather he go to the other NZ teams (and MP) first, and then the Crusaders. 😉

          Roigard has been really good.

Can we start Roigard and Morgan going forward.

Sangster has been bloody good, can we finally bin Blackwell.

Canes totally dominated things today, Drua barely fired a shot unfortunately.

This game is just as a meaningless training run as the Blues v Rebels game. Not the Canes' (and Blues') fault, but this game just doesn't tell you much about players and where they're at. Handy for the 5 competition points and to give players lower in the pecking order a run, but that's about it. Excitement level is low.

Dane Coles takes the field and all of a sudden the Canes don't suck. Coincidence?

@Stargazer yeah he’ll be a bit sheepish but no doubt he will play plenty of minutes for the Canes in the future.

Player of the match for me was Aiden Morgan. Just needs to clean up his conversions.

@Stargazer they were both brilliant aswell.

I just felt Morgan ran things really well, defs needs to be our 10 going into the back end of the season.

Hopefully Love can come back onto the bench.

Certainly some selection headaches in that backline going forward.

Hopefully Moorby eventually makes his way back home to play NPC.

The Canes do score some sweet tries from scrums/lineouts.

Think it was a hangover from the highs of playing first home game last week. Though as a Canes' man I happy.

@hydro11 I’ve done the math and I think we will end up at 5 meaning we play the Chiefs in Hamilton in the quarter final. This is all assuming we win the rest of our games, the Reds lose to the Blues and Crusaders, the Waratahs obviously lose to us next week, and the Chiefs win all their remaining games.
