Regardless of hipness can someone explain the Brubeck meme please?
He had a famous song called Take Five that was written in 5/4 time which was revolutionary when it was released. Around the same time people with goatees started using the word “hip”. Six decades on all of these things are still strong indicators of being a piston wristed gibbon. If they had craft beer in 1960 these people would have written jazz standards about it and bobbed their heads as they sipped and got hoppy suds in their wispy moustaches.
