"Auston Matthews is really doing some work here in Montreal," he quipped — nay, chirped — in reference to his close personal pal and Leafs' starting centre, who scored against the Habs during Saturday's (March 26) game.
Really twisting the knife, the Biebs posed another rhetorical: "How's that playoff spot looking for you guys this year?"
"Maybe next year, maybe next year," he teased, before attempting to start a "Go Leafs Go" chant that did not go over well. Bieber was met with boos, jeering, expletives — the whole nine yards, as well as a thunderous chanting of "Go Habs Go" that proved he was vastly outnumbered (and should maybe fear for this life).
