The books are, but still a good story line with plenty of sex and violence to keep males interested...plus, refer to what Ronin says above
-

I got it off BBC iPlayer. I had high hopes. But there's no chemistry between the presenters, and the producers just seem not to have got the joke, i.e. that in the old version the presenters were the joke.

The old crew appeal was that they appeared to be clueless, ham-fisted and useless, and a bit bewildered by the real world. They may have loved cars but they didn't in fact know much about them (the average 15yo boy could tell you much more about the cars than Clarkson and co could), couldn't drive all that well and held strong opinions based on not very much. They gave the impression that if they weren't doing this for a living there's bugger all else they could do. They're farking idiots and dinosaurs but I'd happily have a beer with them.

Chris Evans may be an alright guy but I'd pass up the beerage opportunity I think. Too earnest.
-

That is a great summation on the chemistry of the old Top Gear.
-

I'm still waving the flag for Peaky Blinders (the BBC show, not Hooroo's nag). Ep 5 just shown, one more to go

Tom Hardy captivating, brilliant and bloody good too

David Bowie (RIP) asked the series creators to please include something from him in an episode and got his wish granted posthumously with "Lazarus"

A handy Russian orgy scen for those vile ferners who go in search of such titilation (you know who you are, you filthy curs) :)

Best TV on ..well... TV
-
Just watched the whole first season of The Last Kingdom in a sitting. Loved it.

best show on tv!

Tom Hardy is so brilliant! Love how naturally tough Tommy is too!

You can look forward to a well bred Polly Gray racing around next year! :)

Ummm wasn't that Episode 4 of this third series? I'm sure there are two to go?
-

Last episode of House of Lies coming up. Has been a great show, really under-rated IMO.

This season has been possibly the best yet, and it's a shame there will be no more. Don Cheadle is a master, and Kristen Bell is amazing too.
-

Shame to hear, mind you I've let it fall by the wayside, up to end of season 3, time to get back into it! Great show. -

Fraid not mate, episode 5 it was. Big ep coming up as Tommy must put paid to the Russians, the priest and all sorts of other goings on -

I haven't watched it for a couple of seasons - I was watching it initially due to the ex wife and her um, propensity to not wear clothes, but then they stopped including her as much.
-

finished S4 of the Americans, I really enjoy this show, they dont rush things, dont drag things out either, things move along at a good pace with good storylines and acting...

Now someone told me this was the final series for it, if that is the case, WTF kind of finale was that....but on checking, it looks like there are 2 more seasons?

They probably could have tied it up this season in the finale, and I'd of been ok with it, but glad there is another.

Assume whats-his-face is dead, the one that got caught, which is why Stan has gone home, all but empty handed aside from knowing it is a husband/wife and have kids?
-

I've been watching Prime rocks: Soundbreaking, a doco series covering the history of popular music, including various aspects of production, technology and making music. Fascinating

Tuesday nights episode was Episode 5 no? I only say that as they only do 6 per series and there is another episode next Tuesday.

I think Tommy has put them all in Jail to protect them from something big that is going to try and smoke the lot of them. They can have paid protectiion in the short term in Prison.

I just about giggle and clap my hands when Tom Hardy's, Mr Solomans speaks and gets involved. Easily my favourite character in the series!
