The giant said "Snow" which I took to mean he is backing Jon Snow all the way. Then buggered off, hopefully to put out a call to arms to his brothers... an army of those fuckers would be awesome to watch.

Yes exactly NQ, Wun Wun definitely said "Snow". After walking off it was then that other tall skinny red-head-bearded wildling then walked up and shock Jon's hand/forearm.

By the way, does anyone else get the feeling that the Wildlings are just dressed up highland Scots? The exception to this were the obvious - the Thens who remained north of the wall.

As for a Giant army headed by Wun Wun, it seems that he was the only giant who made it south of the wall and most of his fellow giants either fell in the battle against the Night's Watch/Stannis or they retreated further north of the wall. The big fear is that the White Walkers raise the giant dead and have them at their disposal to lead an army of "undead".

But it would certainly be cool to see a group of giants on foot and mounted on mammoths leading the charge against the dastardly Bolton's... :good:

In the awesome battle scene a few seasons ago there was very clearly just the two giants, and both of them fell in quite disappointing circumstances I thought. One took a ballista to the chest and the other killed Jon Snows mates but died of his injuries.

Definite Scots reference there although most of them are played by Scandinavian actors to confuse matters.

Actually, the theory that I like the most about Arya goes like this...

5: Arya is left handed. "Arya" wasn't

It's not a bad theory but seriously, what kind of muppet can't underarm throw an object a few feet with their wrong hand? I don't think that proves "handedness".

I think I'd prefer it if Arya had padding and just faked the blood.

If Jaqen has access to such magic that he can become Arya without her face and change his stature etc then what is even the point of the faces? Dumb.

I'm confused as to the extent of his "magic".....I can buy the face thing but although he's not the Hound or the mountain most blokes are bigger than teenage girls so I'm very skeptical about him being the one with her face on too.

Either way I'm hoping his tiresome characters days are numbered.

Yeah, I thought he was an awesome character to start with, assassinating fluffybunnys at will, but this faceless god stuff has become a bit of a bore.

yeah they seem all powerful with the ability to change faces with ease...why are they not ruling this world? Surely they could get in on the 'Game' of Thrones action, I mean plenty of dead kings faces they could have!

Yep, it's amazing how this series can turn awesome characters completely boring and annoying.

He's not even interesting enough to truly hate like Ramsay is.

Bronn and the Hound both breathed much needed life into this season though.

I find him just as loathsome as Bolton. The Sparrow is just such a pompous ass hole.. whilst verbosely telling everyone what to do.

I've just realized the bloke who plays him was the main bad guy in "Tomorrow Never Dies" ( I'm not a fan of the Brosnan Bonds )

He was a cock in that too....

So Arya turned her flesh wound into badass advantage and dealt to the waif. Am I imagining it or was the entire wounding thing just a way to suck the waif into an ambush since she had the needle secreted away under a mattress? If so how did she manage to get herself stabbed in the first place in exactly the way that avoided any serious injury? Very odd.

The Hound got some retribution in. "Do you really want that to be your last words? You're shit at dying". Love the Hound.

    Disappointing episode tbh
Where was the blackfish's glorious death?
Where was the fight to the death Arya v The Waif?
Even the hounds part ended meekly
Great to see the mountain tear 1 head off, but only 1?
No trial by combat tho? ( obviously a 'fiery' outcome may happen instead) but come on.. The way Thomo deflated his mum with the Royal proclamation or what ever the fuck you call it pretty much summed up the whole episode.
To put tonight's episode in perspective, this time last year we sat through 'Hardhome'

More hound would be good, him and his bro,are gonna have an interesting reunion...

Yeah the whole Arya thing was odd, they are wasting a lot of time chilling with Tyrion, Grey Worm and Misshottie!

Tommen is now annoying me too, sure Margery is playing him, but with it all related to the HS....FFS kill him already!

Knew Ed Muir was gonna puss out, given the actor plays him is a twisted coward in other roles too, such a weak scene really.

So Sansas letter was to the Blackfish, or was it just one of her letters? Yeah Blackfishs death was pretty shit, well actually, we don't know cos we just heard some guy say he was dead.

Why did they waste minutes telling each other jokes?

The series has gone way to quiet and boring the last couple of episodes. Pretty average season so far TBH

    So to recap
No twist with Arya v the waif, about 1000 internet theories out the door. Just a bizarre plot in the end. Sloppy.
No Clegane bowl and likely no Mountain doing his thing, great to see one awesome attack but will that be it?!?
The dreaded episode 9 better be fucking awesome, and have some sort of mind blowing/twist moment or moments

The start was good, the end with Arya saying she's heading home was good... all else pretty much sucked with the exception of anytime Bronn and the Hound were on screen.

Probably the most disappointing episode all season and likely for the entire series.

And for the much vaunted "Blackfish" to go out like that... fuck that was weak and really pissed me off!

All through the books the Blackfish is one of the fabled background characters who has influcence on things without being a main character. GRRM had him survive the Red Wedding for some significant plot device yet he get's written out of the series in such a pathetic manner.
