@Bones 1 ep into Resort, like so far
@taniwharugby speaking of Taron - watched Kingsman with the kids Friday, we all loved it. Tried K2 Sunday, bloody awful!!!
yeah, dont know what happened with Kingsman 2, they killed off or dropped all the foils too the "mad camp stuff"...really disappointed
-
I don't know how many are watching Westworld but it was the finale of S4 last night.
##spoiler
It's hard to know how S5 unfolds but they've killed off a lot of the main and supporting characters, or have they. If the former is true, then some of my favourite characters have been given anti-climatic deaths. It looks like we're back in Westworld again.

so might have to get Paramount+
Sadly my year of Paramount for $7 is ending next month. Although TBF I think I only watched 1 series (The Offer) and 1 movie on it. But my mate watched a few series and wendyball which he left on the still viewing list which nearly made me revoke his privileges.
You haven't watched 1883?
Nope, I don't like that guys stuff.
It's not an easy watch, that's for sure - makes you grateful to be living in first world twentieth century though!

I've not seen the prequel, The Kings man, any comments?
K1 is one of my favourite films ever, K2 was arse

@Machpants i thought K3 was better than K2...but still nowhere near K1, I thought the premise was good but failed to deliver
-
Sandman anyone?
watched the first episode last night, different...will keep watching

2 and 3 both fell into the trap of a weak storyline to link action set pieces. 1 actually had a story to follow
-
@Crucial agreed, What little story K2 had also involved killing of a lot of what theyd set up in K1 which i didn't like
K3 seemed to have a cool premise from the one kind of serious monologue in K1 about a lot of wealthy families having lost their heirs and wanting create something to stop another great war...and then its just a hare brained plot that accidentally forms the Kingsman...missed opportunity

I liked K2. It just took the silliness of the premise and ran with it. I laughed quite a lot when watching it. I thought Elton was hilarious. I liked the premise of K3 but don't think they nailed the execution.
yep agree, Elton was very good, but was not nearly as good as one. K3 was an interesting idea that started ok and lost the plot even further without the intentional silliness as it went along.., IMDB tends to agree as well
I think the Alex Rider series was the closest thing that reminded me of K1 as a Tv series, wasn't too bad either

Oh I agree it wasn't as good as one, but better than the kicking it's getting in the thread I think.
I've seen that Alex Rider series when scrolling through Amazon but have never thought it looks interesting enough to add it to my scroll list.
On the subject of Amazon their new update to a Netflix style interface might look better but it's laggy as fudge to use and gets stuck way too often. It's almost rivalling Binge for shittiest streaming app.

@Bones said in TV Serieseseses:
@Nepia yeah I started Alex Rider and it seemed good but they moved it to the IMDb platform over here which means ads, so gave up.
Hmmm, maybe I'll add it to my Amazon watchlist then, but, I'm I've still got a list of over 10 returning shows I'm making my way through (currently on Ozark).

i did kind of like the "statesman" stuff...it was the bringing colin firth back even though he was shot in the face when that was such a epic moment in the first film...and destroying everything...we never got to see a whole Kingsman operation actually working

Finished The Old Man
Top show.
Great acting, sure as is the way in this genre, some of the shit is OTT, but hey, we dont live in that spook world, so who knows how super human they are
##spoiler
I had picked early on that Emily / Angela would be Hamzads daughter, didnt pick that Angela was Chases daughter until it was obvious.
Some nice tie ins though, brothers, dad etc.
The fact The Old Man wasnt Dan Chase, haha!
With those other fellas that had Emily in the van, got taken out by a lone woman? Pretty well organised operation to have half a dozen shooters, knowing they would fail to then get that woman in the right spot to take out 2 highly trained operatives - that said, refer above haha
##endspoilerIt was great. The premise was utterly unoriginal and there may have been a shed-load of cliched plot-twists but the writing and acting was superb. I actually thought the flashback scenes were key to the show as you had to put some effort into understanding the timelines and characters and that seemed to draw me in more.

Just finished episode 6 last night and wow, what a brilliant series (so far). Keep watching as it does get better and better.
One of the best comic book adaptations I can think of, which is amazing given how complex and dark the original comic book is.
-
Finished Bosch.
Reckon the final season moved along pretty rapidly as I have found previous years, while great writing, could drag in places.
Overall, pretty good series, and I guess the finale was fitting given, well Bosch!
Anyone seen the spinoff, think @Bovidae mentioned you were going to watch?

I didn't read the original comics so this is interesting. I did enjoy the series, but I felt they could have taken some of the scenes further, eg could have been more graphic or adult in places?, but without seeing the comics I don't know how that would fit. To me, it just felt they were targeting the masses rather then making it more twisted which I assumed in my own head where some of this would/could go.
