@ACT-Crusader would it read the same if it was done on tries differential? Wonder who has been the best defensive unit, letting in the least tries?

@Mackerzzzz That will be attacking stats. What interests me is how good our defence has stacked up comparatively - after the attacking onslaught from Ireland that allegedly had our defence highly criticised.

Have we contained South Africa as well as the other Championship teams have contained their opponents? I remember an emphatic tackle by a corner-flagging Cane as an example that stood out.

Our defensive structure has been criticized, the individual work and heart by many of our players has not. The structure is leaky as meaning these gut busting efforts to defend the line are far too common

Its crazy how bad the Boks record is playing away to OZ.
The two countries have met 41 times on Australian soil, with the Wallabies winning 27 of those.

The Boks have recorded just one win Down Under in the last decade, a 38-12 rout in Brisbane in 2013.

There was also a 23-all draw in Perth in 2017.

In the last 20 years, South Africa managed just three wins in Australia โ€“ the 2013 win, 32-25 in Perth in 2009 and 22-19 in Perth in 2005.

The Wallabies and Springboks have never played in Adelaide before, but there have been 14 Tests in Sydney between the two countries.

Australia won eight of those and South Africaโ€™s last win in this city dates back almost three decades โ€“ a 19-12 triumph in 1993 at the same Sydney Football Stadium they will play in next month.

That's quite interesting really and especially so if you take the impact this would have had on the winning of any series by the ABs. Another thing that was possibly making us appear a little better than we were.

I have to wonder if the Boks aren't very good at avoiding getting dragged into a game that suits the Aussies. I have always thought of the Wobblies as a confidence team and if you let them get their tails up at home you are in for a hard night.

Difficult games to call really. Both teams are wounded. Boks have shown their hand as far as subs and kicking strategy. I believe that they have to back themselves all the way as that game will trouble Australia. The moment the Boks move away from their full court press and aerial pressure things don't go well for them. I'd also think that they might use their loosies in a more direct way with carrying an extra phase or two before the kick.

It's nuts. I backed the Saffers back in the mid 2000's when they were paying like 7-1. Couldn't believe the odds for a two horse race, with a grinding forward pack like SA had. But ... they got pumped. It's like their strength and precision drains as they cross oceans

So is Australia favorites to win from here on out?

They have two home games left and for some SA just can't seem to win over there. I would like to think the AB's would still win it but I also didn't think they would lose last night.

Don't want to sound like a dick, but I've never cared about winning the RC. I honestly couldn't even hazard a guess at the number times each of us has won.

I care about retaining the Bled and about every game against SA, and I've always taken winning against the Argoes for granted (๐Ÿ˜”)....but never focussed on this as a complete tournament

LOL if we win against the Arg, and the SA and retain the bled, then (surprise) we win the RC. Bizarre statement. We've won it most of the time, same as 3N
