GOT - there will be spoilers

I have to admit that when Jon Snow was getting trampled I was thinking "the bastard writers are going to have him die a pointless death." Thank fuck they didn't.

I liked that they let Ramsay be an utter fluffybunny right up until the very end. Davos wouldn't let the archers loose because they'd have hit their own men but Ramsay didn't give a monkey's.

And we now know why Rickon being handed over was so necessary, the writers needed a reason for Jon Snow to act rashly.

Re Sansa, I asked some weeks ago if anyone thought she was pregnant, presumably with Ramsay's heir. (Stick with me on this... She was gagging on her food, and said something about feeling what Ramsay did to her every day inside her). Maybe she offered Littlefinger the oppo to become "father" to the heir of the Stark and Bolton houses, as well as the Vale. That'd make him a pretty important dude. In any case she's going to stab him up at some point anyway so she can offer whatever she feels like.

Finally, it's shaping up so that all the most important/ strongest people are female. I suspect GRRRRRM has a bit of a fetish for powerful women. -

As Daenarys, Tyrion and The Greyjoys pointed out, they all had arsehole Dads. I really like Tywin Lannister as a character but agree, the Women are taking over.

Ser Davos is possibly up there with the Hound and Bronn as my favourite character ( Jorah used to be but he's getting a bit sad now ). Probably something to do with the irish bloke who plays him, one of those typical can't quite place him actors but always plays good characters.

Thommond and Tyrion are cool too.
-

How the hell did the Vale army get past Moat Cailin? Ramsey should have had troops there, we have been hearing about how it is impassable for years. No army has ever taken it from the south. Brienne would have had to ride past it too on her way south to Riverrun. Like the Bolton men would just wave her through? Yeah right. Actually, the whole travel thing gives me the shits. They ride around the whole of Westeros on horses ever 10 minutes, like it is no big thing or long distance.

Yara is not a lesbian in the show.... she could also be bi sexual

I enjoyed the episode certainly a lot more then most this season. But where have all the twists gone. The thing with GOT was that something unexpected could happen at any time. That's why there are so many fan theories kicking about and one of the reasons people love it so much. Now they seem to foreshadow ever action on the show and stick to that foreshadowing verbatim. The example is the letter Sansa writes to Littlefinger. It works exactly as you would expect and we get the battle of helms deeps V2. It was an awesome battle but there was no twist to it. It played out pretty much as we expected. That is the difference for me in later seasons. There has been a load of talk about the dragonsfire under kings landing so I expect we will see that in the next episode.

Sansa telling Jon that Ramsay will try and get you to do exactly what you shouldn't. Jon even says we have to have them come to us, and that Rickon is as good as dead already. Yet as soon as the battle starts he rejects all that and does the exact opposite. Showing that he is an awful commander but a kick arse fighter. Why spend all that time talking about what not to do if that is exactly what you do once the battle starts. Oh so the audience understands how screwed they are. Would have been better to leave Davos in charge he seemed to run the show pretty well.

You would think the Stark kids would have learnt by now that honor gets you know where, shit it got Jon killed once already, and rocked up to the parley with Wun wun and just ripped all the lords heads off. Job done.
-
Oh, and all Rickon had to do was run in a zig zag and Bolton would have had basically no chance of hitting him. Idiot.

Did that kid even have a single line of dialogue?

Rickon boy's agent: "The good news is after 3 seasons they're bringing you back. The bad news is you get no lines and then they kill you."

I reckon they're going to make Bran basically end up the way Rickon probably does in the books, i.e. lord of Winterfell. The idea that Bran should remain connected to a tree for all eternity doesn't make great TV.

The big reveal for me will be what actually happens to Stannis. He is flawed but still pretty damn cool in the books. Actually he was pretty farking hard core in the battle of the Blackwater in the show as well. -

Dude start your own thread with the rest of the nerds. This is for the TV show. :knuppel:
-
There's room enough for both you heathen.

They're brilliant. For a while there both book and series complimented each other really well. But the series started to go off the reservation in the 5th season.

Having said that, there is plenty of bloated crap and filler in the books. -

Im quite the opposite, they seem to be worlds apart from each other so will need, at some point to read them. -
