Curious to see how Cheika approaches this test. If I were him I’d throw out some different tactics early doors. I know they’re installing a new style under Kidwell but they’ve got a real shot here. The Pumas are one of those teams, a bit like Scotland, capable of a big result but then never back it up. Take advantage of the ABs maybe coming out too hard somehow.

I expect us to win whoever we put out. One obvious pattern over the past two years is that the coaching/senior players solve last week's problems for the next game.

If the Argies can offer something new (unlikely) then that could throw a spanner in the works.

Currently we are building a team that will lose a knockout game, can't string two good games together, let alone the three you need to win a World Cup.

Did you watch the third test vs Ireland?

Well, this is the Pumas II thread and how that game pans out, so minimal irony I guess.

That’s really talking up the Scots….unless they’re playing a shit team they have the wood on like Australia.

If we play that badly again, my wine collection as well as the TV might end up in the swimming pool. If we can at least break the "two losses in a row" pattern we've seen in the last year or so, that would be progress of sorts.

A solid, calm start would be a good thing to see. Get some points on the board and then take control for a good win rather than playing from kick-off as if there's a 50 point cushion.

Good God man, give yourself an uppercut and get a grip.

Skull the wine to help with the depression, don’t get rid of it.

@Victor-Meldrew why not go rip up the tennis courts and give Jeeves a damned good thrashing while you're at it old sport. Then set the sauna on fire and feed the caviar to the working dogs before the fox hunt.

Pleased he's back and fit, but, jeez that was a hard read - almost cringeworthy in places. I know it's only one interview, but it was so buzzword & cliche-ridden he sounded like a team leader in a failing call centre.

The Allblack players give identikit cookie cutter interviews and have done for a long long time. Andrew Hore was the last character who shot from the hip.

The coroporate speak has shown how rugby disappeared up its own arse and could also be discussed in the current state of rugby thread.

learnings, mitigation (when it comes to cards), "he brings positivity to the group", "he asks all the right questions" .

    a load of bollocks

@mariner4life haha. I did like that 2006 3Ns squad. We had some hard nosed dudes in there.
Kidwell, Pritchard, Wiki, Guttenbiel, Motu Tony, Matai, Puletua, the Cayliss bros, Soliola, Vatuvei, Roy Asotasi.

We just went up against one of the all time great Aussie sides that had Lockyer, Thurston, Cam Smith, Petro, Inglis, Gasnier, Hayne, Hindmarsh, Thaiday.

And I reckon we were robbed in that second test.

Anyway ABs to win by 7
