    My frustrations:

Part 1: "Do you want to do a RAT?" could have just been "Can you please do a RAT as I have to visit Mum today?"
This, again, is an ongoing pattern like "Do you want to get the washing in?" just bugs the shit out of me.
Ask what you want, don't sound so passive-aggressive about it.

I feel that frustration too. A couple of females in my life do that all the time and it cheeses me off. Just ask me to do something FFS. I hate being expected to read the female mind.

Bugger. Me too. I've pretty much organised the school trip to Hillary Outdoors centre, 60 kids, 10 adults. Sorted out 30k of grants etc. Teachers job but they're stressed, new, and not great organisers. So boy 3 brought it home, I guess, him and machpanties tested positive. I felt safe, cos I've had it before. But no, myself and boy 2 positive on day 3 test, I feel shit, not going to Hillary (as staff)

Thankfully my youngest, boy 4, has avoided it, he had it before too, so he's off tomorrow to Tongariro.

Lots of beers watching rugby, I think

    Rant 1:

Mrs TA goes away on a girl's weekend. Comes back with advice from one friend who is about to get into their fourth investment property, using a company to handle all the day-to-day as part of their self-managed super fund. Mrs TA remarks that it is a very good idea that we should look into.

Yes. An idea I suggested about ten years ago when it was apparent things were going stupid with property in Sydney. Where I proposed that this thing called "equity" existed within our property, and that we'd be mad not to at least look at using it for our longer-term financial health.

At the time, struck down as too risky. No discussion. Have suggested it a couple of times since, to no avail.

Yet, here we are, out of the blue, deciding it is an option based on the advice of a friend.

It is a longstanding pattern at this point; various things I suggest are utterly worthless unless a friend has come up with it, or I simply go ahead and do it and the results are evident.

I'm not saying I make every post a winner, but I'm a bit sick of feeling like my ideas and opinion don't matter.

Women are wired differently and are mental. If you’re lucky the mentalness keeps manifesting in new and continually mind boggling ways.

@voodoo equal parts amazing and cutting onions bro.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/x56cin/taylor_hawkins_son_shane_kills_it_on_the_drums/

Apparently the live stream was accessible but MTV have turned it private till the 5th. But like Crucial mentioned there are lots of clips on the Tubes and other sites.

    Enjoy!

It was pretty fucking amazing. Looking back at who we saw last night is truly mind blowing. Some thoughts:

Opening with Foos and Liam Gallagher was a master stroke. Crowd nuts from the word go.
Josh Homme does a great Bowie. Less so Elton, but he’s a hell of a musician.
Chrissie Hynde still has s beautiful voice
Supergrass, oddly, had the crowd quite flat. Was s bad sound mix.
Violet Grohl has a great voice and looks like her Dad
Taylor’s son is a mentally good drummer. Future foos drummer? I can see it. Crowd were blown away.
Justin Hawkins has one hell of a set of pipes. Didn’t know most of what he sang.
Valerie was really beautiful. Such a nice quartet on stage. However they were followed by Brian Johnson and Lars.
Brian Johnson still got it. Amazing voice to fill a stadium. Two AC/DC songs were highlight of non foos.
Grohl must be shattered today. He was onstage for prob 4 hours.
John Paul Jones looks proper old now. Sad.
Wolfgang Van Halen is a chip off the old block! Fast, although perhaps a bit more about speed than anything else. Hot for Teacher was loads of fun with him and Hawkins.
Queen stuff was good, although not a highlight for me. May solo song a little boring …
Rush are seriously talented … crowd didn’t know them at all tho. Prob should have been earlier on the bill.
All My Life remains one of the best live songs you can see. Blew the roof off Wembley.
Macca is old but Helter Skelter was cool.
The stand in drummers were all amazing. Shane Hawkins the standout, but the others really not behind. Omar Hakim insane.

All in all an epic experience. Lots of references to the Mercury tribute many years ago, with many speakers throughout the evening sharing stories.

No doubt a once in a lifetime event. So glad I got tickets.

I was there as well. Enjoyed most of it but thought parts of the middle section felt like some random jam session with 90 000 people looking in. Dave Grohl was fucking awesome; playing bass, guitar or drums with an eclectic bunch of musicians and just channeling raw emotion.

From what I saw ( not much ) Brian Johnson still sounds bloody good for an old fella. You just know he’d be great company over a Newcastle Brown or 20 as well.

As expected people online are piling into Lars Ulrich which is uncalled for. Sure he comes across as a dick at times but he IS a very good drummer. Not sure why it’s so cool to hassle him ?

Glad I missed Liam Gallagher, whoever mentioned John Paul Jones ( can’t remember ) should remember he’s 76 years old ! Great that he’s still having a hoon on the bass with the young uns.

Dave Grohls nice guy act still grates but he’s obviously very good at bringing together too musos past and present

Yep. There was something about hearing his voice which just sounded right in the stadium setting. It was a real crowd lifter before they even played a note.

Yeah, he was fine and said a few words which were well received. Online dickheads can piss off. Man has more success in his left fingernail than all of them put together. Of course he's not immune from criticism, but he played brilliant, like all the drummers.

British crowd, so Liam was spot on. Point about JPJ is that if you compare him to Stone / AC/DC etc he looks like an old man pulled out of his nursing home. The others look like old rock stars. JPJ doesn't, at all. He just looks like an old man.

Dave Grohls nice guy act still grates but he’s obviously very good at bringing together too musos past and present

Why does it grate? Got any inside word that he's an ass? Certainly not in synch with most there!

@MajorRage just on the drummers, I thought Travis Barker was excellent and absolutely buzzing to be playing with the Foo Fighters.

I also didn’t know that Rufus Taylor was Taylor Hawkins’ god son. And he’s got more than a passing resemblance to Taylor Hawkins too.

Not sure, just a personal thing. The whole “I’m a rock star but I’m a REALLY nice guy” schtick I think.

John Paul Jones never really did look like a Rock star but as the Swiss Army knife of Led Zep he did his bit and then some. Absolute legend.
