Halfway through 1883 now....
So much better than Yellowstone.
Less cheese, more bleak.
Realistic.
Enjoying it.
Way more bleak.
> Oh... titwatch? Nah.
The young beeatch's voiceover - initially annoying, less so as it became obvious this was an ode to the old Oregon Trail shit and it's romance-vs-perils... and now that she's wisened up to those perils another level... I'm going to guess is about to become even less annoying. Or.. more. You watch far too much stuff without tits

I have been finishing off watching the last episodes of Ozark this week.
##spoiler
This is a show I have talked up, but I was disappointed with the final episode. It seems to be very polarising too, you either liked it or hated it.The car crash was a big tease, other than proving it seems that the Byrdes can't die. In the end they will do anything to stay together and survive, which I guess was the point. I really wanted Wendy to die a horrible death.
##endspoilerI just finished it tonight.
##spoiler
I was gutted Wendy didn't die a horrible death too.Pretty annoyed they killed off Ruth but the foreshadowing early in the episode was obvious as fuck.
The final scene of black and the gunshots was actually a pretty decent way to end, aside from the rest of the episode. Not as bad as the finale of The Man in the High Castle though.
At any rate it was a very good series.
##endspoilerAgree all of that. Overall I liked it, though ever since one of youse pointed put that there isn't a single likeable character in the entire show, it's been a little harder to enjoy.
I think that was me.
Started well but I wonโt even bother watching the last few episodes to be honest.

....isnt that what the saying "breaking bad" means...sharp turn into crime, not a slow forced progression

@Frank started this the other day, yeah, i have an interest just because Wimbledon have gone through this process, getting promoted to the league, discussions about fan ownership re a rich owner...even oli palmer back row in that pic was bought from wimbledon (and loosing him possibly get use relegated)
interesting that they didn't really know each other before

The run of bad final season of shows continues. I think Peaky Blinders was the worst of the lot. What a terrible final season. I've always found the show to have iffy writing but it's always been enjoyable. This season was just tiresome which makes it harder to overlook the poor scripting and characterisation. Nothing rang true at any stage.
Some main characters were sidelined and weird new characters brought in.
There's a Boston gangster character which I think the actor watched Adrien Brody on the show and decided he would have a shot at his pantomime performance crown and bloody well succeeded.
Disappointing end to a good show.

LOTR: The Rings Of Power
Two episodes released on Prime Video so far. I'm enjoying it for the scenery. The production values are good.
Importantly, out in the web there are a bunch of neckbeards going off about how it doesn't agree with anything Tolkein did/wrote etc.
So that's also a plus.
I'll keep on with it.

@NTA some people need to realise how much of what they hold dear is just their own head cannon, shit they inferred
from what i understand the source material is a few chapters from the Silmarillion...the show runners are going to have added their own shit....the difference being they paid for the rights to do so rather than sitting in their basement....i say this having been through a pretty major Tolkien phase that may have included time on a Tolkien forum.....

hardcore source material fans are the fucking worst (see any Star Wars thread anywhere)
i didn't mind the start. Visually it's very cool.

I thought Seasons 1-4 of this was some of the best TV I'd ever seen. Then season 5 was fell off a cliff, and I haven't even tried S6 yet. Doesn't sound like I should bother.

I don't rate S1-4 as high as you (as I noted above I find the writing iffy, it's an enjoyable show but I doubt it would trouble my top 30) but the quality of those seasons is markedly better than the final two. This is what happens when you introduce the piece of plank that is Adrien Brody into your show ...

I'm a hardcore source material person, but still enjoying RoP. The most off putting thing it's how the main protagonist, Galadriel, is so fucking unlikeable. Also her fight with the snow troll was so much posing, rather than fighting, it was pathetic. Like anime or some form of dance off
