LF's got a fair slate of pretty nasty dealings racked up, Baron. I think he's a definite bad guy and given the number of the worst that have departed it seems a reasonable bet that he'll step up in the next seasons.

It was LF that created this whole 'Game'
Excluding the WW situation, everything comes back to LF.

Convinced Lysa to murder her husband knowing Robert would ask Ned to be his new Hand.
Betrayed Ned Stark.
Murdered Lysa (not a bad thing as she was cray cray)
Gave Sansa to Ramsey ( somehow had no idea how psychotic he was)

LF doesn't wants to sit on the Throne, he just wants someone else to that he can manipulate, the way he does with Robyn (Robert in the books) -

maybe he isn't in love with her (but IMO he gives that impression - more so the current trailer) but he sees the benefit of having a Stark at his side, which will all but give him Winterfell and the Ayre, a position of power that can see him close to whoever sits in the Iron Throne.
-

It is funny how many of us are so quick to forgive and even like characters like The Hound, Jaime Lannister and even Bron, who all have done some really nasty shit. Yet someone like LF gets continual dislike. I cannot figure out how the author and writers have managed it as realistically his acts havent been that bad... just really self serving. Like everyone else he used the tools he had to get ahead in a brutal world.

I am fully aware of how they 'come across' I am just interested in how the writers have manipulated us into liking some evil bastards and disliking others.

Even to the point where we all dislike the High Sparrow for wanting to bring the great houses down.

Maybe because when we imagine ourselves in these 'worlds' we see ourselves as kick ass warriors, or nobles. We don't see ourselves as peasants or middle class guys trying to struggle and get ahead. Therefore when a peasant or middle class person does things to bring the nobles down.. we rankle against it like it is an attack.

Chances are if you actually lived in Westeros you would be hoping like hell that LF wins and the big houses all fight each other to oblivion and irrelevance. The Sparrow not so much.. who would want to really live a in a theocracy?
-

Personality goes a long way. Little Finger has none. As I ( and others ) have said it's gonna be less entertaining knowing Ramsay isn't plotting some sick, depraved shit.

Little Finger or High Sparrow could get a spear in the guts next episode and I wouldn't give two fucks. They're not interesting enough to warrant wishing a nasty death like Ramsay, Walder Frey or Euron ( here's hoping )

If you want to see the peasants or middle class guys do well I suggest you watch a bit of Parliament TV for more realism.
-

Personality? I think he has plenty of it!

He did start off the whole war.... manipulate armies all over the map, marry people off, plot revenge for slights, basically murder his rivals and he has done more than basically every other character except Daenerys.

The Hound has done what exactly? Wander around the country pretty aimlessly? Get his ass kicked by a female warrior, then become mates with a monk? All whilst being pretty bland and saying fuck all? Sure he has a personality, and I like his character... but he has done plenty of evil stuff in his time and has accomplished SFA . But hey.. I like most others like his character. I am just trying to fighure out why.. Is it really just as simple as the fact that he uses a sword or axe instead of his brain to get ahead?
-

High Sparrow is the single most boringest character in existence, the sooner the Mountain tears his head off, the better!

That might be a slight hyperbole, but it suits my point

The Hound was just another big Sword wielding muscle head until he got stuck with Ayra which humanised him and made his character heaps more relatable. Only reason he lost to Brienne was cos he was badly wounded from other fights previously. People tend to like strong silent types afterall.....

I guess with Little finger he just has the dodgy car salesman demeanour about him. I agree he is a very shrewd one but I have a feeling he isn't to be trusted ( well "trust" being a relative term in Westeros )
-

LF is the most brilliant out of the lot of them. He came from nothing, yet armed with only his wits and cunning is now one of the most powerful people in Westeros. He was handed his arse by Ned Stark's older brother when duelling for Cat and that appears to have given him unquenchable ambition.

But I hate the fucker. For a start he's a pussy who needs others to fight his battles. Tyrion is a dwarf and has seen more action than him. Shit even Dany or translator girl would probably beat him up. He's also a dishonourable, slippery rat of a man who would sell out or kill anyone to go even one stop up the ladder of power. Fair enough, that's the only way a guy like him could get ahead. But it still makes him a horrible human being and completely unlikable.

BTW, he wants Sansa bad and he wants that Iron Throne. Sansa represents the Cat he could never have. I have been rewatching the first series (which is absolutely brilliant btw) and there is one scene where he's just standing looking at the IT. He wants it bad.
-

I would add that I much prefer LF to Ramsay. Ramsay is a horrendous psychopath. I mean the guy fed his baby brother to his dogs. Happy he's gone, but it's just a shame they didn't do the Reek treatment on him.

-

Little finger has a lot of similarities to Varys imo - except he's got much more ambition to claw his way up. But not to the very top because he knows how dodgy that seat/throne is. Better to be influencing things from a slight distance and keeping your options open. I think we saw a lot of LF's personality early on when he was having his status thrown in his face etc...

Frey and the High Sparrow to get their beans I reckon, but I wonder if the hound will somehow make it to the Red Keep if things go up in flames? He's 'sided' (barely tolerating) the Fire god followers, plus his aversion to fire and potential clash with his monster bro could make for a cool story arc.

So we are going to have a few major armies coming together as we lead into the end?

Freys + King's army (Lannisters, Highgarden + odds and sods)

High Sparrows faith militant

White walkers

Jon Snow/Sansa/LF mash up

Dany's unsullied, Dragons, Dothraki + odds and sods from the cities she's captured. Plus the Iron born

Whatever the Dorne bitches can scrape together

Remainder of the Iron born force

anyone else as a major force who isn't aligned to one of the above?
-

You mean actually do more than be a spaced out paperweight ? no way......
-

True, had forgotten about him. Fuck there is a lot to advance or tie up this season!

-

Rancid raises an interesting point about LF, in a death match between him, Varys and Tyrion I'd bet my money on the little man being the only one to survive every single time.

Speaking of fighting what's the deal with the Mountain ? is he deliberately being silent or has whatever was left of him completely gone ? Why is he serving Cercei ? since she brought him back from the brink of death is he basically the Darth Vader to her Emperor ?
-

As mentioned, I've been rewatching the first series and it is superb. They made some weird changes from the books, but otherwise it is an amazing adaptation. The sad thing is that alot of the really cool characters (at least IMHO) are all dead. I'm talking Ned, Robert, Robb, Greatjohn Umber, Pappa Mormont, shit even Theon with cock was pretty tough. Robb in particular shits me. He had a great story. Young kid thrust into power because his dad is betrayed and executed. He's underestimated by everyone, but then turns out to be a military genius and arsefucks the Lannisters. But then Theon betrays him, his own Bannerman Bolton royally farks him over, and then he's murdered in cold blood at his uncle's wedding. That really sucks.

Isn't Varys supposed to be the only altruistic player in the Game of Thrones.
